True, but only when there's a rules conflict. And as new book trumps old book, there is no rules conflict. If the conflict was in the new book itself, then yes, specific does trump general. But not here. So...

Pistoliers are screwed. (At least until GW publishes an FAQ or the Empire army book and turns everything on its head again. )

Ironically, they do. So do cheats.

True, but I believe that they also have a policy of 'specific trumps general'. If that's the case, then Pistoliers aren't screwed.

Again, when the *7th* edition army book comes out for empire, then pistoliers will have what they have. But until then, new trumps old.

Again, many *3rd* edition books had specifc rules that got overrode when 4th hit. And then the newer codex came along and overrode 4th.

It SHOULD be the same way with fantasy. All specific rules are overrode until their newest book comes along....I hate to say. But thats how its been.

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

No. The Warhammer 40,000 4th edition rulebook only overrode those rules in the codices where specifically noted (such as the Universal Special Rules). The only time 'new' overrides 'old' is when they're the same book (ie, a 'new' Codex Eldar will override an 'old' Codex Eldar but it will not override a different codex).
