Based one of many 8th edition discussions, I'm interested in trying to get an idea of one's ideal game scale.

So, the question I propose is "If you were to redesign 40k to any scale you wanted, what size model would make an ideal centerpiece (single, largest model) to an army/team?"
- Do you mean Grothammer 40k?
- Average-sized infantry: Officer, sergeant, Nob, etc.
- Large/elite infantry: Terminator, Tyranid Warrior, Wraith, Crisis Suit, etc.
- Small, light vehicles and MCs: Trukk, Chimera, Rhino, Raider etc.
- Large vehicles and MCs: Leman Russ, Land Raider, Carnifex, C'Tan
- "Borderline superheavy": Wraithknight, Imperial Knight, etc.
- Superheavy/GMC: Stompa, Baneblade, etc.
- "Extra Large Superheavy": Thunderhawk, Gargant, Imperator Titan, etc.
- My army is the planet you're fighting on

Since it looks like GW has decided to totally revamp the rules for 40k with this new edition, should they have switched to metric?

Yes or no is fine.

Given the 8th ed rules are you likely to:
1) Start 40k again/ take up 40k
2) Increase/start spending on 40k
3) Not change your spending
4) Decrease/stop spending on 40k
5) Sell your miniatures and find a new wargame

I found the "how old are you?" poll to be quite interesting, perhaps a "how long have you been war gaming?" would be a good counterpart?

I couldn't find this as a poll, so hopefully I'm not repeating someone.

Poll idea:
Do you prefer video battle reports or reading a battle report with photos?

Given the apparent schism between fans I'd like to see how Dakka polls on The Last Jedi.

Did you like The Last Jedi?

Yes (under 25 years old)

Here is a question for the audience( Question Time style! )

If GW / FW was to release an Imperator Titan - for Adeptus Titanicus - would you purchase one?

If so, would you purchase it in plastic or resin?

Thank you.

What 2 armies would you like to see in the 9th edition starter set and thus the ediion "revolves around".

Standard marines
Blood angels
Dark angels
Space Wolves
Deathwatch
Grey knights
Imperial guard
Sisters of battle
Custodes
Sisters of Silence
Adeptus Mechanicus
Imperial Knights
Inquisition

Demons of Khorne
Demons of slannesh
Demons of Tzeetch
Demons of Nurgle
Death Guard
Thousand sons
Black legion

Orks
Tau
Necrons
Eldar
Dark Eldar
Tyrannids
Genestealers
Harlequins

(and any other army in 40k thats worth a mention, so not assasins, or imperial fists because they come under Spae marines)

I'm dyslexic and thus am bad at spelling and grammar please don't remind me in comments to my posts.

The flesh tearers really like killing so much. In fact they may love it more than inquisitors.

On the other hand, if it's the consensus that such a 40k specific thread isn't deserving of front page attention, how about we lock the old one, and I'll create one myself over on 40k general?

How much potantial do you see in digital support (in the style of mansions of madness) for implementing into miniature wargames/skirmisher?

0 - no potential at all - leave me alone with digital support, I like my game like it is.

1 - not too bad - I think apps are fine, but please let me have the choice not to use them

2 - digital is the future - I played Mansions of Madness/Imperial Assault and would looooove to see something like this in a wargame/skirmisher.

3 - Whatever - I don't care

How important is it for you RNG (RandomNumberGeneration) is a part of a miniatures game?

1 - I hate RNG! I like keeping control. I like the card solution in Malifaux.

2 - It's okay where it's necessary (ie. Hit-Rolls) but anywhere else it's just annoying.

3- RNG ftw Gimme a bucket! I have to roll!

What's your usual points limit in your 40k gaming group?

(My gaming group rarely has time for 2k clashes, because.. life, children etc.. Based on the armylist section it still looks like others are playing at 2k level. Wondering if that's true - Other question would be do your gaming group finish 2k matches in the tourney format time or do they go over most of the time, but like I said totally different question)

Assuming you know what he's contrast paint line does and how it works, which of the following best describes your level of interest in using the line to paint your models?

A) regular painter - not interested
B) regular painter - will try it but not likely to use it heavily
C) regular painter - will use to speed up mass troops
D) non painter - still too much time for the results
E) non painter - will try it but will reserve judgement
F) nonpainter - been looking for something like this forever

I did not find a poll on why people choose (or do not choose) to paint minis (only one on whether they paint or not). As a long term gamer from back when 40k was more about the hobby, converting, and painting than about winning and losing, I am interested in the newer generations reasons. To me the number of plastic, unpainted armies has gone up massively. So the poll would be something like this:

Why (or why not) do you paint for 40k?
(A) I love painting
(B) I want stuff painted so it seems more "real" on the table/Visuals are important to me/painted models fight better/match my fluff
(C) To fit in with my local group/FLGS (these two are close but subtly different)
(D) Feel obligated by local group/FLGS (these two are close but subtly different)
(E) I only paint as a way to make money selling what I paint/Professional painter
(F) I only paint so I can play in tournaments that require three color minimum
(G) I do not paint: I have a better use for my time
(H) I do not paint: it's boring and pointless
(I) I do not paint/Other (write in)

When painting helps me win, I will paint

Thanks for your time mods.

What day of the week is best for a pick up game?

I find it interesting as in my single days it was always a weekend, but now that I'm married my weekend is filled with family events and house projects. Also I see (Non-Corona period) most evenings at the game shop have dedicated nights for certain systems.
