putting the last touches on my stuff! Nothing like painting up until the night before!

Did I miss the list submission location? I made some changes after seeing the 'frankenstein' and best mini stuff.

List presubmission can be done to novaopen@gmail.com. Due to the ability of deliberate cheaters to simply change their lists after presubmission, and the prohibitive costs of printing 9 of everyone's lists for them, we'll be verifying lists AFTER they are submitted formally in print version at registration. That said, we're incentivizing early submission.

This will be better delineated in the 3rd and final GT newsletter, releasing later today.

Always fun to paint up until the last minute ... kinda like putting together the final touches of a tournament up until the last minute ...

Good luck! What'd you end up deciding to bring? I know you were on the fence for it.

I ended up decided on GK for the invitational and main, and have been putting in an absolute painting marathan 10-12 hour painting days all week, and they'll continue for several days. Still need to finish 6-8 vehicles and 30 infantry.

Oy vey.

Thanks. I finally decided to use my Daemons, for better or for worse. Adding to the to-do list:
-Sculpt details on and repaint 20 Plaguebearers
-Repaint 5 Bloodcrushers
-Sculpt more details on and repaint Fateweaver
-Repaint 1 Daemon Prince

Should be fun.

I've talked with friends over the topic of: to use your favorite/pet army you're used to, or pick up a new one that may be more 'powerful' or poised for the metagame.

We've all settled on playing the pet army, there's just no replacement for experience/comfort with an army.

Wowza to your paint total, at least I'm not to only one!

Well these aren't being entirely repainted, just mostly The plaguebearers should take about 15-30 minutes each, Bloodcrushers 30-60 minutes each, Daemon Prince about an hour, and Fateweaver 1+ hours. Display board is being finished as we speak.

Howdy, quick questions about the FAQv3 and what not came up in a primer game versus IG today...

First, it says that nothing on the battlefield affects units in a transport. So that means psychic hoods or their brethren dont work on enemy psykers casting in transport vehicles, ala the GW tyranid faq for shadow in the warp?

Second, prior to the GW faq, the NOVA allowed vendettas to hang off the board. Is this still in effect (meaning a vendetta can move 6 when outflanking and still fire everything) or must vendettas be entirely on the board when moving in from reserve, meaning they can only fire 1 las cannon.

Finally, when scouting with a vehicle, it counts exactly like a move in their movement phase. Thus, if a vehicle scouts with a flat out, would it get a cover save versus enemy shooting on turn 1 and also treat immoblized results as wrecked, provided the enemy goes first? Or was last years ruling that only bikes get cover for moving fast still in effect this year. Didnt see it in the v3 faq, and was wondering ahead of time.

DevianID - Hoods work fine from in / into.

Vendettas and Stormravens and Nightwings could all in theory hang off the board. This is a controversial one we are constantly working over and discussing. Though it may change in the future, you follow the current ruling and for oval flying stand models, need only get the oval flying stand fully on the board; in short, you use the oval flying stand only for all movement purposes. We are well aware of the arguments against this, leveraging the "hull on board' FAQ answer, as well as the arguments for, etc. It's what we're sticking with this year, certainly in part to prevent last second confusion or stress for people who've been prepping all year based upon that ruling.

The ruling from last year re: scout fast was removed (or is in the final version), and so applies as per RAW/GW FAQ.

Thanks MVB! So a vendetta that scouts flat out will get a cover save in turn 1, but also turn immobs into wrecks... good to know.

As for the hood into/from vehicles, if not hoods then what does the part in the FAQ 'Battlefield effects do not affect units in transports' apply to?

Another quick FAQ question. Outflanking IG Platoon, you roll for the entire platoon when rolling for reserves but do you roll for the entire platoon or for individual units when determining board edge they come in on?

Doesn't matter to me either way as long as I know which way to play it.

REALLY looking forward to this weekend, wishing I could make it down Thursday but life didn't allow it this year.

Whole platoon one roll for all things reserves. This applies to both the arrival roll and the subsidiary heading under reserves of Outflank. So, Al'Rahem rolls 1 dice for botbh side / arrive.

Devian, it's re: things like Doom of Mal'antai, Explosions, etc.

All 9 tanks are "painted" and that just leaves the 85 infantry models to highlight and base. Unless I change my list again before Tuesday. Or the special order jacket with the sleeves that tie in the back arrives. Whichever comes first.

I swear if not for this tournament my IG would be olive drab for the rest of eternity. Bless you Mike.

Edit: crud! I almost forgot about the display board!

Conversions are almost done, only 15 more plaguebearers to go. That's easy stuff though, I've already finished all the "medium" sized conversions, and I also have 2 big conversions, one being entirely scratchbuilt which is 98% done, and the other large one is 90% finished.

Here's to hoping painting gets done in time!

3 60mm flying bases (not built)
20 small flying bases (not built)
