A delivery I've been waiting for for over a week has finally arrived. More dryads, spirit hosts and a Treeman. Plus a load of basing stuff. Had a quick play around last night, think I'm finally a bit happier with the basing now.
Hopefully over the weekend I'll get a bit more done.
Also wanting a whole load of GW terrain at the moment, but need to ease up on money going out.

By all means - I pinched it from the Carnosaur in the Lizardman Painting Guide, so I cannot claim originality!
Well, I think I can work my way around that :p Thanks for the source!

Excellent! I had six Minotaurs and a unit of Bestigors turn up today, but need to finish the Seraphon and some Khorne Juggers first!
Also scored some awesome converted Treekin on eBay recently. I am thinking they will not take too long to paint so can lump them in with something else...

When AoS came out, several players here bought starter boxes. But the interest has vanished since then.
I still have the content of starter box and some Chaos Knight and Mauraders on Steeds. We are trying to get into the SDK warscroll system atm. Maybe it will give AoS some boost in our gaming group. My models are still grey. I'll paint them if we get AoS going here.

I've got a bunch of extra Liberators from the starter set and am making grand hammer Libs with extra hammers from the Retributors in the starter.
I think eventually I'd like to get another paint scheme going on a new set of Stormcast. Something about the models have me wanting more and more and multiple factions of them. I'm hoping they go the space marine route and splinter a bit in the future.

I know exactly what you mean. I recently picked up a couple of units of Liberators cheap and have pegged them for a different Stormhost. Haven't settled on a paint scheme though...

I based my stormhost on my local college football team, with my celestant prime named after the team mascot. Also the hammer stormcast have home colors and the sword and spear stormcast are away colors.
That reminds me, I still have most of them to paint.

Umm... Only get to paint perhaps 3 days a week, plus most Sundays. Perhaps 3 hours on those nights - kinda flies by as I have the TV o.

Some of the painting in this thread is absolutely killer (not to mention prolific!). Particularly like those VC by Andreas 2.0

My Start Collecting Seraphon box came in today, and that is a seriously intimidating amount of plastic to assemble - I think there's more than the AoS starter set, despite making only half as many figures. I'm eager to get started on them, but I'm curious whether or not I should wash them in soapy water first? Do you have to do that with plastic models, or just metal ones? I haven't washed any of my other models, and they seem fine, but now that I'm getting more serious about painting, I'm wondering if I should get more serious about preparation too?

Sqorgar, the models that you really should wash are (from my experience) just resin models, such as anything from Forgeworld, or Finecast.
To be honest, I've been using a lot of resin models for the last few years, and haven't washed them... but it's a very good idea to do so. What you're basically doing by this is removing any "mold release agent" that is sprayed on the silicone mold to make the resin parts easier to remove. This release agent also makes it hard for paint to stick to the model.
The only models I've really had to be careful about washing are Trollcast models from Trollforged. I haven't actually gotten any Forgeworld models painted, but I have a few and some of them do seem like they could really use washing, too.
But for plastic or metal, it isn't necessary at all, imo.

Awesome. Thanks guys. Time to start building some lizards...
(I did have some issues with primer sticking to some Warmachine plastic models - rubbed off to the touch, but it might also have been a bad can of primer)

@Bottle: Thanks and yes I'll do both cute eyes lol. Amazing how one can miss stuff on a model this big and as detailed. Will give it a another once over once the other two brothers are done.
@Navarro: Thanks,base is one it comes with,a 130mm round.
Looking some more I think I'll change the colour of the Nurgle symbol on the loin cloth(?) at the back.Too samey, purple might work better.

You know how you can sometimes get models 'stuck' on your painting table, and they then go on to hold up other models from getting done? Yeah, I have that at the moment with two Stegadons. Hopefully will finally be able to shift the big lumps this weekend. However, I did manage to get some other chaps done - an Astrolith Bearer and a Razordon with Handlers!

Tell me about it. I've got some Hexwraiths I have been working on since... October (!) currently holding up any more Death models getting done :-(
I should work on them this weekend some more!
The new models look absolutely great, Matt! Is it safe to assume the Lizardmen have become your favorite of your AoS armies?

Odd as it sounds, no! Getting pumped for the Fyreslayers right now, but want to get Beastmen done first (and then probably final Khorne bits, still haven't done any Skullcrushers).
Basically, it is all good

Two bits of good news from my painting desk - first off, it looks like I have broken the back of the two Stegadons that were holding everything else up. Hoping to get them finished tonight or tomorrow night!
Second, I managed to complete this little lady for our forthcoming battles in the Realm of Life:
I also did a new Warscroll for her to better fit her new role as, well, a demi-god. It can be downloaded from https://ttgamingdiary.wordpress.com/2016/01/19/alarielle-the-radiant-queen/ and comments are welcomed!

More piccies and painting notes at the usual place, including details of my next project (and, after these two, must be mad!).
