OK, looks like it has potential, will watch this keenly to see it take shape. Here to hoping it doesn't end up in the bin!

They don't actually need bedrooms you know they can sleep on the sofa!

Just saying.

It will be fairly large once it is done.

So having had a cheeky win on eBay I finally took delivery of the warlord power fist and have a test fit on the haulage trailer, quite excited to be cracking on with this at the moment!!!! " the beast" is tickling along in the background but no major developments and but had to share this quick pic.

So not as easy as I first thought and I've only managed to assemble three fingers and the thumb along with the main part of the fist. Fingers still need 3rd section attaching and the wiring needs a bit of heat so it hangs down a bit, but it's coming one nicely and will be a perfect fit once finished

Just about a perfect fit, lucky boy. Nice fist as well, goes to show the scale well. I do really like the idea of this.

Cheers Cam, there was certainly plenty of luck involved. But it does look the part, and is almost as I first imagined it. Here's hoping I can do it justice with the paint job.

Love the idea of this you don't see enough pre war dioramas in 40k reflecting the logistics and behind the frontline life, just a couple of things will you be strapping the beast to the trailer and what kind of rigging will you be using if you are of course.

Just a thought about the cabling have you considered removing the original piece (carefully so if you wanted too later put it back) and then maybe use a GS Cable maker and create your own or even use something like Zinges industries bendable resin cable sets ?

I am just wondering even by heating the original cabling that you will get enough movement without it breaking or weakening it ?

Cheers dirty dog

Wish I'd checked in earlier that is an excellent idea for the cabling, I love zinge stuff. Luckily the hot and cold water method has worked with no damage to the original. Will be strapping if down with something and thinking of using good old chains for the job !!

Yes seems to have worked a treat the hot and cold method, enough sag especially with the cabling being quite thick after all it would have some strength and resistance.

As for the straping using chains is very 40k, the emperor would approve

And yes Zinges stuff is great the bendy cables are worth a look indeed

So construction complete and I've started the paint. Now I know that if its to look good it will take time, but it has taken me an hour to touch up all the edging, and that's on the side you won't see much of. Base coated all the main panels and will probably add some lighter shades to the centre of them tomorrow. Then weathering

Cheers stonned,

Been a long wait for the warlord fist, but at last as you say it's coming together and I'm really pleased with how it's turning out. Lots to do still, but that's the fun part!!

Been tinkering with several things over the week so thought a quick update might be a good idea. Trying out new chain anchor points on the low boy trailer and have been trying to replicate the chain tensioner's which is quite fiddley. Also started to form the main part of the roof for my explorator and as the weather is absolutely glorious today, have pulled a few figures out the multitude of project boxes and got some under coat on them. Get told off for spraying in the house Hoping to have a pleasant evening painting with a pic heavy update later but here's the low boy for now

So having had a complete loss of interest and the feeling that I'm sat in a black hole of ideas since my last post, utilised the good weather yesterday and messed about with the base colour scheme on the Craneblade main body. Need to lighten the top panels a bit more I think but am pleased with the overall effect so far.

That looks brilliant and utilitarian. This is good bud. It looks like it works for a living.

Hobby is a up and downer but stick at it, you are seriously talented.

The Fist of doom is looking fantastic, you have a great shading going on the blue.

Nice steady day yesterday playing with the kids in the garden and a bit of time spent starting to pick out the small details on the main part of the tank, still plenty to do but not rushing this one!! Still have all the stowage to paint as well so that's something to look forward too after spending the day with the inlaws

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

Looks great to me, got a real Churchill ARV vibe going on with it (not sure if that's already been mentioned...) You could do something similar to a Churchill ARK or Bridgelayer next

Cheer Ruglud,

That's a good thought!!! Have to add that to the growing list of to do projects. At the moment I'm trying ( and failing) to finish the kits I started already before moving on to another big build. With the craneblade and the Titan hauler nearing completion I've got the Crassus and Trojan + trailer to get going on again, and then maybe I can start something new. Problem there is I already have 2 projects in mind, this will make 3!!

3! lightweight...I have dozens in the wings waiting to join the glorious pile of "started" projects.

Really looking great.

yes i know only 3 at present, but this does not include straight kit builds. of which there are many

, I had a cull and sort out of the project list at Christmas!!( by cull i mean a splitting into 2 ) there's somethings i just don't have space for until we move house ( if ever) and i get my man cave space back.

At present i have a larger titan hauler project planned on paper, looking at being a dedicated vehicle rather than trailer.
working on ideas for terra forming/mining vehicle
and now a bridge layer is definitely on the cards, looks like i will be scratch building and casting my own baneblade chassis. as i need 4 i think now

problem is finding time these days to actually get anything done,

Been fairly busy again of late, started to undercoat the two aux cranes and then realised I had not built the crane stowage support for the boom crane. A little tinkering and trial and error and have something I'm happy with. Could benefit from maybe one more cross peice to the main chassis and still needs nut, bolt and chain details adding, but it will have to wait. Work is taking all my time at the moment, even my weekends but pays the bills and allows me to buy all the bits I need, so really shouldn't moan,

Quick picture of the second aux crane mostly primed and fitted with the leviathan claw trial mounted to get the overall effect, think this is my favourite crane I've built so far
