Ooooh I have 3 lucky clouds :-) they're more likely to destroy a city though.

Brilliant thread - made my evening to read it. I hope to see it all finished some day! Cutting up a realm of battle city board to make big buildings is the idea of the year.

Thanks kestral! I just cut a bunch more sidewalk out to finish the monorail track. Hopefully I’ll put it up this weekend if I get some help.

Here’s a new model I’m working on. A sentinal without a cockpit. Setting it up as more of a mech suit hopefully.

Plan to run a lot of these in my planetary guard army. Thought they would be good considering their size. I can get them into a lot more areas than a tank would ever fit.

Is the flamer to Big? Is that a good weapon option? Scout or armored versions?

Every single one gets stuck in its barrel and I have to pop it out with a safety pin. Which is not so easy

I dunno if it's too late, but if you break open a Britta filter, it's full of thousands of little rivet size balls.

Success!

We are making clean casts again. The issue was pinpointed down to the cleaning agent. I was using water and dish soap to clean my molds. I guess that’s a really bad thing as the rubber absorbed the water and reacted with the resin. Anyhow, after a couple hours this morning Using the 10 minute pot life mix and the injectors I have approx 30 more rouge trader imperial guard torsos.

And using the faster mix I have the pieces I need to complete the blown up bridge

And some more prices for my monorail cars

Don't pop them out, just keep punchin' them until they start pouring out from the back.

Nail art and scrapbooking halfbeads are good options too.

Awesome work!

Went back to the the pistol barrels from the Adeptus Mechanicus Ironstrider for my heirloom las riffles. Much better but hard to find bits for. It’s a pain but I’ll have to try and cast these too.

The WIP mech suit (aka power loader) is coming together too. Needs the cage, tons of green stuff for the arm mechanics, and well, a lot more everything. The smaller flame thrower is a lot easier. The big one would have had to be two handed and much harder to figure out.

in front you’ll also see the beginnings of two more auxiliary squads

Well these were going to be shots of me working on the monorail track but they turned out just showing how messy my work area is.

And a picture of the additional monorail pieces where they will eventually go.

It's coming along nicely, you've got until the end of the month to finish then everyone is coming around to your place to play Necromunda on it

Thanks, I think it would be a fun table for Necromunda too but that’s certainly not what I built it for. Hoping games will generally fall into 2 parts. 1) seige and 2) normal or city fight with each army starting on opposite sides of the canal.

Speaking of, I got a little more work done on two of the bridges.

And the start of the destroyed bridge

I just got some cloaks from www.victoriaminiatures.com and Was hoping to have all my planetary guard wearing some sort of cloak or cape. Kind of like a Roman soldier or something. I couldn’t find any thing that worked in the GW range. They are also kind of needed/helpful in hiding the neck area of the rouge trader torso casts because I had to carve those necks and heads out before creating the molds. What do you think? Cool idea? Not so much? If so what color should the be? Deep red like romans or more muted like a rain or camo cloak?

I love them. You could even add a short sword to make them look even more roman. There are plenty of combat knives you could use in the CSM box.

Your city guard are really coming along nicely dude I actually quite like the hybrid Skitarii/lasguns. certainly the last one with the slightly extended Skitarii barrel and the lasgun muzzle.

Also, watching with extreme interest for your syringe DIY injection moulding. That's a really clever solution, and it's always something I've really hoped would be within amateur reach but not seen much of so far.

Is the plan with plastic or resin?

Thanks wraith,

The product i work with is a simple 2 part resin called smooth cast 300.

https://www.reynoldsam.com/product/smooth-cast-300/

It’s supposed to be for beginners but i still seem to have a fair amount of mistakes.

The injector syringes work great though. Definently as far as i think my skills will take me. Pressure and vacume are just too advanced and costly. You should try it.

I also moved away from 2 part molds and am just trying to do deeper one sided for my torsos and weapons. Works fine with the syringes and using a paper clip to stir the bubbles out before it sets

In regards to lliu and Illumini’s comments. I wish i had the time too and taking on both the guard and the city might have been a bit much with the new kiddo.in the house.

Yeah, i did a ton of the ressin ones but based off a one sided mold where the sides were the pour opening. I know better now and would build a mold from the bottom but don’t know if i care to go through it all again. If kirkee is cool with the styrofoam I’m noticing on

Photo drop.

A lot of this you’ve seen but there’s some new stuff and these photos are better.

First I finally got some help and we now have a much better staircase designer

Next is just another angle on the courtyard

This third and fourth photo are from a new tunnel we added that goes from one of the man bridges and connects to the original tunnel under the destroyed forgeworld buildings

Here’s another courtyard on the other side of that tunnel but I think we are planning to add another building here. You’ll also see another tunnel entrance that goes into the catacombs under the cathedral. And more stairs of course

Here’s the starting layout for the catacombs or whatever you want to call the large area under the cathedral.

And lastly another picture of the landing tower and factory
