Wife's car ran smooth for me last night, there's a recall we never got notified about, so hopefully that will get fixed and we will be good. They are still futzing with my car .

dsteingass wrote:That Bridge is EPIC! I knew when you bought that, it was destined for the Underhive!

Oh yeah, that's why I bought it when I saw someone else point it out. It has been rotting in my underhive for a while waiting for a gang to claim it.

Well eclipse happens here in about an hour with the total eclipse being about 2.5 hours from now for my area. We are in the narrow band of totality, so I will have a whole 1minute and 30 seconds where I live to view it . I got the special glasses and everything. Once in every 99 years I think they say this happens. On a slightly preachy note, when Jesus died on the cross the sun refused to shine, I can't help but think back to that story thinking about what it must have been like. I guess I'll get a slight glimpse of what it may have been like later today.

We migrated to my grandmother-in-law's home about 30 minutes south to catch 1 minute and 22 seconds of totality. I believe there's another one of these in the States in 2024 but after that we may not live to see another since so many crisscross the oceans.

Remember you need the glasses before and after the totality period but for the minute and a half you get a show for the nekkid eye. But check with a scientist, don't blind yerself in my account

Well my wife's car broke down when she picked me up last night from work. Some camshaft selenoid thingy. It was working fine this morning and eventually (20 minutes of fiddling with it) got us home, but just another bump in life. God says he doesn't give us more than we can handle, but some day I want to have a little chat with him about that .

While chilling out this morning I came across a cool video for a workbench that I'd love to eventually build for myself as a gaming table. I say eventually as my basement floor is not level enough for this to b practical, but maybe one of you all would enjoy it.

just saw that video my self.

i dont know if i like the idea of the top area popping up.

especially if you leave a ton of stuff on top of your work bench and need to get into it side drawers under need would probably be better.

I'm thinking of it more for gaming. Most of the games I would do would be on the 4'x4' table, so the two side tables could store dice, accessories and zombie hordes that could be used while playing on the 4x4. Drawers would be better, but this level is more manageable for me.

GrimDork wrote:Yah I usually cover any available surface myself

You have seen pictures of my basement work area right .

Sitting down and flipping through the rules for Test of Honour while waiting for the sun to disappear. When I was waiting on my car Saturday one of the people who came into the shop was looking for 2 trailer tires. They were supposed to be 2 hrs south of us getting set up in a field for the event.saturday morning is no time to look for tires, especially special trailer tires.

Theo, get yourself the hardware to level table legs and build your dream workbench. It's easy stuff to install.

Waiting on the eclipse myself. We're getting 80% coverage here in the Old Line State. (Maryland's nick, like Missouri is the Show Me state. )

That bridge has tremendous potential. Have fun with it.

Thanks Red. I could get the leveling hardware, but then I'd have to adjust it every time I move the table. I think I'm just going to build a 4x4 table and deal with it.

Speaking of building. I saw my box of sedition wars stuff( doors and terrain) and grabbed some styrofoam I saved from the trash. I'm give you shaft 2-7. The door to an elevator below ground.

Easy line of sight blocker and I'm digging (bad pun intended) the idea of the genestealer cults being miners.

JoshInJapan wrote:That's a good start on a nifty terrain piece. I wonder where my SW terrain set is......

Yeah, too bad they have canned that set. Just because the game sucked and there was such a hate on for the figs (which were great at bottom basement prices), they still could have rebranded the terrain

cormadepanda wrote:You remain creative as always

Thanks Cormadepanda , glad to see you back and active. And with a Titan maniple no less

dsteingass wrote:I really like those doors, makes me wish I had some.

They were the gems of the set. There's plenty in a box if you manage to get one. I'm planning on many more of these type mining pieces.

Camkierhi wrote:Got a few you can have Dave, looks great Theo, could do another, and have a secret tunnel type scenario.

Yeah the premise is to build a few with some being the smaller single doors and a couple of two door pieces. A small tables worth where the miners dug out the homes before the terraforming was done, so everything is cheap and sealed. They could transplant easy onto other tables and be used as the "Vents" in Necromunda.

In the mean time I stopped by MM and lucked out with finding a Bat Mite promo figure for $7.50 his plastic prison is crushed, but he will escape into the underhive as some sort of crazed loon like the Rat King from TMNT .

The more I hear of what Necromunda will be packed with the more I'm afraid, and not in a good way. I've heard 5 models per gang in the box with the only "terrain" being cardstock tiles and it being more of a subterranean game, like sewer wars type. A far stretch from good old Necromunda where more people die falling off of buildings than due to gunshots.

Hopefully we get more spoilers soon and my fears can be way laid. But the game designer (who is here on dakkadakka Lagoon83 I believe) is the James hewlett that worked for mantic and GW and has done some great designs like Calth, and gore chosen. He has now left GW and started his own company. I think he is still bound by an NDA, so he's not giving up anything.

Mostly, on my phone.

Dude. That's a steal, Bat-Mite is already so rare that KM don't even have any left. Last time I checked they were going for $55+. Doesn't help that he's absolutely phenomenal in the DCU game (he's terrifying in BMG too, but is a Legend so can only be used in casual play).
Maybe you should find a foreigner who'll be willing to pay top dollah for it

I hope that's not the case as when I opened the pack he had no legs.....none. Miscast from the knees down. I guess he is a might midgitier than he should be. I emailed knight models to see about a replacement. I can send them pics if need be.

cormadepanda wrote:Nice buy. It is good to be back.

I like big piles of minis myself. Whoever dies with the most toys(painted or unpainted) wins right?

Well as stated I have a amputee version of Bat Mite, still powerful, just less area to paint .

Worked a bit on the Orc bloodbowl team. Pretty good progress, no pics, but I need something painted this month for the monthly painting challenge.

Also two more of the huge printer cartridges got replaced recently at church and I saved the ends off of them. For those that don't remember what they look like

I have three ones set aside without all the gubbins that I glued onto this one. I think I'll put them next to each other as a chemical storage tank bank.

Car still not fixed. Mechanic friend has been trying to heat pop the lugs off. Volvo used aluminum hubs and steel lugs, so no matter what the hub is getting damaged by heating the lugs up. He's ordering me a whole new hub in case is cuts the hub off. Three days of car rental so far and I'm wanting a new car instead of fixing older ones .

And I didn't win the $700million dollar powerball lottery, so no supply drop for everyone.

Yeah, if I hit it then Forgeworld would be busy .

Edit: I worked on the Crumpin Fists this morning some more. Just claws, teeth, checker patterns and bases to go on them.

I made sure that I did more checkered areas of the newer guys and made the spots different from their twins just so they look a tad unique. Hope I can finish them off tonight after work or tomorrow as I'm free this weekend.

Pretty sure next month I'm going to focus on my Asian themed army using the Warlordgames Test of Honour figs(formerly wargames factory samurai range ). I also have earned enough points (spent enough $$$) at the other local FLGS) to get $10 off, so I'm thinking of picking up the masked samurai set.

Just need basing.
Team

Went with split skull color of blue and white.

Blockers

Line orcs

Throwers, thinking of painting the fabric coming off the side either red to go with the blitzers, or checked, maybe one of each.

Catchers

Thanks for looking. Probably doing Agrellean earth pitch bases.

Thanks LTMW, I have agrellan earth instead of agrellan badlands, but otherwise I'm doing the Orc pitch bases as seen on WHTV https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NN0fhFcIyBo

Thanks Cormadepanda, I like the checks added to them too.

Well basing started, but a second dollop of agrellan earth added to most of the bases as the center of each base has the annoying fill divet from manufacturing and it's showing through.

You can see the splouge on the centers of most of the models, some were covered good enough. All have had agrax earthshade applied to them as well. I'm going to do black base trims, though I might give red a shot on one as a test.
