You guys are probably right. I was thinking that they actually added the AM keyword to crusaders. They are probably unchanged, and just ministorum still.

However, according to this article, they DO have the AM keyword.

Be very weird if they did have the AM keyword? I guess Priests and co are included like Daemons are in the Chas Codex as something you are likely to take? Ok EDIT - read the article and their inclusion makes sense, guessing they may not have [Regiment] though. Like the Ogyrn bodyguard, female guardswomen and conversion notes.

Might be first 8th ed Codex I buy.

They can only ride in a Ministorium Rhino or Immolator.
Nope they are [Order} vehicles - Sisters and Inquisitors only.

Nope, they can transport any Adeptus Ministorium Infantry units. The only restriction is that they can't carry sisters from a different Order, but Crusaders don't have an Order so ignore that restriction.

However, it seems Crusaders now have the Astra Militarium keyword as well, so they can take any AM transport... that's a huge buff for crusaders.

Edit - and for 1 CP you can give crusaders a 2+ invulnerable save.

Weird random thing: I've seen in some reviews that Crusaders are in the AM codex for some reason. Do they have the AM keyword now? Can they take a Regiment and get all the things that come with that?

I'm guessing the answer is "no", which makes their inclusion in the codex really weird, since they're really just a Ministorum unit that you're allying in.

But if the answer is "yes"... Catachan Crusaders might make for a hilarious oddball build. S4 power swords with a 3++, acts of faith, Straken, a priest, and orders. Deus Vult indeed.

I guess even if they can't, they'd still make a potentially interesting alternative to Ogryns (who also don't get a regiment keyword anyway). If they at least have the AM keyword they'd be easier to transport, and can get some decent mileage out of just AoF and a priest.

I was Interested interested in crusaders until I saw the models. By the emperor they're awful! Anyone have some good conversions?

Maybe it's mostly those heads though.

I had a bunch of planned conversion ideas for crusaders for an inquisition force, which got put on the back burner when 8th was released because they removed crusaders from the inquisition (stupid GW).

Now that they can be more widely used with transports though (assuming the rule change is as suggested) I might just bring my inquisition back to the table.

There's a lot of good possibilities out there, Warmachine has some nice sword+board units. And you get 10 models in a £25 unit, instead of 1 model for £8!
