Lizardmen are people too!

Maybe he identifies as a lizard-person.

Or maybe he's a Man-Lizard, and not a Lizard-Man?

Well, there's already a minotaur, I don't see why Adrian Smith couldn't have come up with more.

It's not like the Minotaur was featured in the story either though, at least not that I can remember.

There were plenty of abhuman types running around all over the place though.

I think the Lizardmen are the only ones to feature as a cohesive force though, right?

Thanks for the detailed pictures. Not a regular person, but not quite a lizardman, either. Maybe he's a hybrid?

4 armed giant lizard people! This highlord is certaingly going to be highlording, even if the tribe is missing their named characters...

So you have a base pledge, then? Mind if I join in for $25 plus some of the shipping cost for some of those lizard men?

They are the first must-buy of the campaign.

I think it sucks that everything really cool like the spore-like clan and Vore Nash and optional buys.

I also don't understand why they are puttting so many different clans in there. I mean even witht he multiplayer rules only 4 people will be able to play simultaniously.

I am 95% sure I won't back this. Combine all the optional buys with the core box and it sums up to more than 200$ already. Too much for my taste.

The cool things are add ons because backers will pay extra for them.

The multiple Clans are there for choice.

In most CMON campaigns add ons also seem to alter gameplay or play quite differently than what's included in the base game as well.

For example Rum & Bones has crews using multiple ships, Arcadia Quest has the grave mechanics introduced in the expansion, Zombicide expansions usually have new enemies or mechanics.

It's not that surprising. The lizards having their hiding and bait abilities, the fungus guys being super resilient... the first expansion tribe even has their poison mechanics.

CMoN obviously wants to extract more money from your wallet - as a business, that's not unreasonable.

If you don't think it's worth it, don't back.

At least these expansions seem worth the price,

unlike some of the stuff in their other projects (Elemental in massive darkness i'm looking at you!)

Big stuff is big.

Yet another add on!

All 4 are mercenaries, and they all end up replacing your prince if you can acquire them. And like I said, they're big.

So we've got the mother, her champion, Flaya on the horse, and the twins on an auroch that takes up 6 spaces.

Coolest thing is they really mess with the rules as well. Mother can gain extra activations and rerolls, her champion can make a mess of a rival prince's rolls, Flaya can cover the bulk of the board on her horse, and the twins can carry other mercs and gore bystanders as he stampedes all over the board.

Also started pushing towards our next goal- a new merc.

And he's a pretty hefty boy...

Base game really doesn´t seem worth it, but expansions are tempting. I guess it should be possible to get most of the 120 base investment back from selling on eBay though...

I caved this afternoon, after I finally looked at the KS. I had been avoiding it because:
a) I have too many miniature-heavy board game kickstarters that I never play and won't ever paint.
b) I have too many kickstarted games I never play.
c) I have too many minis I won't ever paint.
d) I assumed you'd have to be a band of lame ass good barbarians crawling through hordes of cooler monstrous barbarians.

SO technically only d) was proven wrong, but holy hell, there's some brutal AF stuff going on in this game. This is Adrian Smith unleashed and I love it all. Plan is to do core + reptile clan + red dice. Mother Prophecy is tempting as well, but I tend to shy away from expansions that make a game play too differently, in preference of just getting more factions to maximize player choice.

But yea, oh my sweet savage feth

I really want several of the add-ons, but I'm really lukewarm on the core box. I just don't know what I would do with most of the miniatures included? Play "Apocalypse Dentist" or "Edgelord: King of the corpse pile"???

I actually dropped my pledge. Lots of cool minis, but limited budget and a $200+ expenditure to get what I want just rules it out. Well, more money for the next zombicide/massive darkness.

LOL. That's because all of the pink Orks look the same. It's not like "this is the axe gang, and this is the hammer gang." If you were to toss them into a pile, I would defy anyone to sort them back into their respective tribes. Whereas it would be trival to re-sort Necromunda gangers or even the Others' monsters. That's bad visual differentiation, IMO.

OTOH, the lizardmen are distinctive, so they're OK.

For how the game looks, one suspects you could draft a couple "sets" of pink Orks and it'd all look just fine together.

Time for another add on-

At this point if you're getting the 3d huts and trees, might as well go all in with the 3d board.

This is reminding me of a Heroscape board a bit, the way they've got the spaces pretty well defined on the pieces (which is probably a good thing, and hopefully the trees sit well on them).

We've also started another tribe, this one is in the core set at least.

New tribe is interesting in that so far at least, they're all female, and possibly have the Satyrs hanging out with them. They also have multiple shamans, which means lots of magic shenanigans. Their cards allow them to control opponents as well, which I'm sure other players will appreciate.

Plonked my buck down for the PM. I'm more okay with them being less visually differentiated, but that's because I'm literally looking at this as a bunch of chaos marauders, some scenery, and some tiles I might use for role-playing or whatever. The game itself doesn't look interesting enough in any way to make it worth playing over other my many other choices in my limited gaming time.
