I seem to have missed a few updates, it’s been good to catch up on your projects. You seem to be going BIG at the moment! The Fire Incarnate and the Zombie Dragon are looking particularly cool, but not as cool as your Lord of Undeath, neat conversion!

Ah thanks, I never played fantasy so I'm not particularly knowledgeable about when the stuff came out. Those terrain pieces are looking cool, two of them are very fitting for Halloween having just passed.

I've been catching up on things myself to be honest. Bigger is certainly better at the moment wanted some easy wins instead of slogging through all those pesky infantry models The lord of undeath is definitely my favourite conversion and paint job of all my recent miniatures.

Ha yeah, I thought the same as I received them on the 30th and I unboxed them had a good look at them, thinking they'll be plenty of good examples of skulls about.
Also in the same Kickstarter box. Was this new landsknecht giant. Which I cannot wait to paint.

Some cool projects on the go here!
I have loved that old zombie dragon since I first saw it ridden by a Mortarch vampire lord in a White Dwarf battle rep years and years ago. I love the weight and feel and nostalgia factor of metal models but I'm glad I never had to pin a beast like that together!
The FW fire elemental is a really cool model, I have not seen it before - and the scheme is coming together nicely.
The terrain bits are cool and seem to fit in really nicely with the "GIANTS" theme! the three skull rocks stacked together are my favourite piece.
New giant is a really lovely sculpt too.
Thanks for sharing - excited to see more!

I agree, landsknecht giant is really cool. Not to mention an unusual concept. Even counting D&D cloud giants, I don't think I've seen such a well dressed giant in any system.

Evening everybody,
@tzurk,
Thank you very much! The colour scheme when I started was very much a case of I hate it, I hate it, I hate it, it's ok, I'm liking it now. The start of looked horrific but I think it's working out well now. I like the giant sculpt for sure!
@Syro
Yeah I really dig the landsknecht giant. I thought I'd best finish my bone Giant before moving on to him. So I did and immediately started working on the new giant.

Cheers Gobert much appreciated. Initially I was going to go rogue on the giant and paint him in a different much darker black and red scheme. But a mate told me to stay true to my yellow mercenaries do this is where I went.
Been painting his face, I've tried to go for a boozy weary looking brute. I've seen it done many times. But usually I'm more of a wash and highlights kinda person. Hopefully it's working well.

Thanks guys, glad to know I'm heading in the right direction.
Bit more work on the giant and a picture of my next more giant giant.
There won't be any progress for a few weeks as I'm away with work sadly.

A bit late to comment but your collection of giants is shaping up nicely! Really ace job on the bone giant, and well-done catching the boozy glow.

Thanks, I really enjoy a giant on the table top. They rarely do me well. But I just enjoy them being along for the ride.
Thanks I was really happy to get the bone giant off the painting desk he'd been there for far to long.

There were a few miniatures released under the Warhammer empire citizens name. He's one of them. I think he came in a twin pack with the duelist with two pistols.
I've been converting up another elemental beast incarnate model to go with the original FW one. It's a near straight copy of a conversion I'd seen online by Ex Profundis.

That beast incarnate is really cool. It reminds more of something out of the Hannibal TV series when it went all trippy

Good evening.
@Kid Kyoto, a quick Google tells me this is a anime film? Presumably something horrible happens in it if something similar to this beast turns up.
@Don Qui Hotep, Thanks while I am still tempted to convert one of the front fists/ claws to one of the GW giants, preferably one holding an empire peasant I am satisfied with the middy look it has so far.
@gobert, thanks much appreciated. I've not seen the series maybe one to go and watch to get a colour palette for the beast.
No progress on it tonight as I've received my new skeletons from north star and have put together 30 of them with bows. These are going to be a bit more gritty and dirty looking than my first undead army. Well that's my hope at least.
I also had my two bone Giants armed with bows turn up from Rebel Wargames which is a 3D printing company in Ireland, they're sculpted by highland miniatures.

Giants cannot wander alone, they need support.
Currently on the painting station the first 11 of 30 archers from Oathmark.
Mini review: the models went together a lot easier than others I've put together GW & Warlord Games. Due to the legs and torsos being one bit. Warlord was the most time consuming on that part. The bits on the sprue was great, 5 skeletons with options for 5 bows, HW & shields or spears. I thoroughly enjoyed the dynamic look to the bowmen. They do lack the crispness of both GW and warlord games though.
I'd rate them all on par, as they all provide a different need/ want for me.
Waiting on some Ushabti sized archers to turn up as well.

Nice skellintons, giant and otherwise! Good plastic skeleton archers are actually something i'm on the lookout for, so it's good to know that the oathmark ones are all right!

Thanks, I think if I was starting a skeleton army I would use GW/ Warlord Games skeletons for spearmen/ swords and shield and the Oathmark for just the archers. It's very nice to have some cheap skeleton archers on the market.

Yeah I was the same which is why I bought 5packs of 30 I've written some army lists and I'll probably have 30 Archers made up.
A minor big of progress on the army as I've annoyingly been busy at work and too tired in my spare time to hobby. Did a bit more painting and I out together a Preyton.
I'm currently on the lookout for a toad dragon to use in my swamp monsters chaos army.

Awesome skellyboppers, are they warlord? Great idea with the coffin lid shields, very gothic. Am I right in thinking the old GW skeleton or maybe zombie kit had some coffin shields?

Thanks, I saw a unit of skeletons with coffin shields in the old army book and thought I'd run with it.
They're the Oathmark skeletons, though I do have some of the warlord ones in my skeleton closet.
I think the current one has a few broken coffin shields from GW. They also sold a metal pack of coffin shields which is were I press moulded these ones from.

It's a classic choice for any self respecting skeleton armourer and you can't beat a coffin lids for availability when you literally can't get out of the ground without bringing one with you.
