All in all a good time. FW selection was a little light and the drink nazi was over the top, but good time.
The guard at the entrance or the bartender? Cause on Sunday my buddy and I were walking by the bar and the bartender was setting up as a guy asked 'are you open yet?' She ignored him, so he asked again, and she turned around and snapped "does it look like i'm open?" Then turned around again. So much for hotel hospitality. Nothing says please don't buy my overpriced beer like that does.

Incredible event - well run, great tables, no controversies, literally an incredible accomplishment given the size and scale of the event. I will definitely be back next year and can't wait to see how far this will go.

I'm eager to see the Tau/Admec game to see what all the fuss is about but can't seem to access the video. I've linked up my Amazon Prime to Twitch but still getting "you need to be a suscriber" message.

The LVO was just awesome.

I was super bummed about all the Castellans, Ynarri / Drukhari, and 3-7 flyer lists wrecking everyone and being so heavily in the final top 100. Hope those issues get changed. I wish flyers didn't score secondaries.

Im fine with flyers scoring some secondaries. Recon makes sense and obviously killing stuff makes sense. They shouldn't count for any objective holding or behind enemy lines or linebreaker though.

They also need to have a caveat that they cannot be placed within 2" of a friendly model so that they cannot make a wall and prevent you from moving. That's really the unfair part about them.

So a rule allowing them to be placed closer to enemies then friendlies? That's only shifting the problem around.

I think they should just reintroduce the ability to move "through" them so long as you don't end your move within an inch of their base like last addition. Simulating guys running under the planes. It's conceptually still very stupid, as is fliers crashing because models are under them, but at least it opens the game up a bit. Fliers really should never have been added into the game but the cats out the bag.

Returning the ability to move "under them" would be fine, but their bases are rather large and you'd still have to end up an inch away which is still a rather large area you cannot be in. Making it so that they cannot be within 2" of any models at the end of their move is a much better option this edition with the changes to movement characteristics and all the aura's around.

Really makes it hard for you to castle up or protect your army from charges with flyers if you do it like that (and flyers should not protect from charges at all since they are up in the air).

What would 2" accomplish though? You can't go between the fliers anyway there.

You can pass through there. You just cannot end your move within 1" of the flyers. As long as your base fits (32mm bases can fit within 2") you can pass through the gap.

I still prefer the option where if they are supersonic they can be placed over enemy models and enemy models can be placed over their base. If they switch to hover mode then they are treated like every other model.

I'd be down for the 2" separation instead if you give them the ability to fly off the board again. Flyers without hover or the double turn are already difficult to use, and are one of the few models in the game that you can kill without rolling a single die.

"When you move a model in the movement phase it may not be moved within 1" of any enemy model".

Doesn't seem to give any exception for moving past. Once you enter within 1" you have moved within 1" of enemy model.

Im likely remembering the charge phase if that's a straight copy paste for movement phase rules, but it would still work in the charge phase.
