Not a killjoy, but the leak didn't said anything new besides the Codex.

So the codex is the "massive but incomplete update"?

Specific words. Massive but incomplete update.

Yes, massive udpate can mean a massive overhaul to rules. I don't see them reduxing every single kit in plastic, and poor guys look even more ancient than Necrons right now.

Specific words are not so specific given the case.

Like an Eldar Campaign book? Almost none of the campaign books have had massive overhaul to the rules, and all the codexes so far have been massive overhauls to the factions that claiming a "massive overhaul" to the Eldar codex just feels redundant and can be almost applied to every single 9th edition codex.

Also, a "massive but incomplete update" is a very weird way to describe a codex update.

Regarding the Gen Con updates, at what hours are these updates usually coming out?

I mean it specifically said ‘incomplete’, so I don’t think anyone is expecting every kit in plastic…

The rumour isn’t specific about what is being updated but I have a feeling you might be the only person to read ‘massive but incomplete update’ and come away thinking that means ‘just a new codex’.

Consider how much detail they gave to the allegaded CSM range versus "massive but incomplete update" for Eldar.

I really want new plastic Eldar, but that leak regarding them is just extremely vague.

Maybe they just don't care overly about eldar hence gave them a backseat or couldn't remember specific units over a year out.

Conveniently caring enough to give a good amounf of details about everything else?

I agree it is vague, but so are many of these rumors sadly.

The rumors got more and more vague and unclear the further it went out. All of the stuff you are mentioning also has no release date and less specifics. I still suspect a fairly big elder update on models but still less then the orks current release especially with how massive the rumor was for chaos marines. Next year appears to be the year of a massive chaos revamp….

I’m not really surprised but I am disappointed we don’t have another primarch in the pipeline yet. I would really like to see a dorn or corax primarch and an Angron demon primarch sooner rather then later.

I play dark eldar, but while I can tell the aspects apart, my knowledge of craftworlders is a lot more limited. Meanwhile I dont play chaos, but could identify probably 95% of their models and weapons at a glance. Not being specific on the eldar is not really a warning sign to me.

Not everything else, world eaters, squats and Daemons got glanced over as well.

Tbh it was a rant almost following the shocking codex roadmap, I doubt they felt like spending hours divulging all of the details of every model, more of a heated "here's stuff".

Yes considering it was on Bolter and Chainsword- where they are mostly focused on ...bolters and chainswords [i.e marines of various colours/spikiness]. I think thats why the releases about the black templars and Chaos were so detailed- not just because of the guy's own preferences but also the main preferences of that particular forum. Wouldn't read any more into it than that.

The guys rumours appear to be very spot on so I'd be optimistic.

Remains to be seen! We got a pretty hefty spread of stuff yesterday(Underworlds and Kill Team starter plus the reveal of the next Warzone and its launch box...which I think was meant to be today not yesterday).

We still have Necromunda, Warhammer 40k, Blood Bowl, and War Cry yet to see reveals for. We also know there are two "exclusive seminars" Saturday and Sunday.

I hope they redo aspect warriors, plastic Warp Spiders and Swooping hawks. It's been a long wait. Falcon is perfection.

Curious what they'll cook up for Warcry.

Falcon could use a kit remaster like the Russ and Chimaera got. Would probably be able to integrate the wave serpent onto the sprue as well.
Vypers really ought to be redone to bring them in like with the venom and voidweaver.

Well I still hope for some stuff revealed for GSC (rumour engine has teased some stuff for them).

But I really suspect that there is going to be big reveal for Black Templars besides new band for Warpath.

I suppose that there is little else to be revealed today, oh well...

Middle Earth SBG new starter box, Osgiliath themed... maybe one day soon.

Middle Earth wasn’t on the list of systems so we aren’t going to see anything for that at Gencon.

I think today is the seminars isn't it, which are towards the end of the day for the west coast. I'm thinking the next ones are more early morning GMT updates rather than friday and saturday ones.

GenCon is in Indianapolis which is in the Eastern time zone (it's currently 2 pm).

World Eaters would imply a Codex, new Berzerkers, and with any luck, the treatment DG and TS got, so no need to specify.

What else could you expect about daemons?

Squats going to IG.

You can infer all of that easily, so the thing was a detailed CSM list versus "Eldar gets stuff".

And the seminars are at 6pm? So 23:00 in the UK, that's better than I thought.

I expect they'll either update it or bring a replacement, something similar to a Hornet. I fell that the concept of a mobile gun platform didn't age quite well with the arms race that happened. Wave serpent is a model that I hope gets a more radical redesign, I'm fine with modularity but with how much budget GW has, it'd be neat to have it more visually unique.
