Disagree. If you're going to sell the Biker that's a new profile, they better come with a dismounted version.

I expect to have the usual apologists coming to tell me that it "wouldn't be practical", but I'd like to point out that we didn't need the Kazak Doctor in an all-Ariadna pack.

But wouldn't a Biker 112 with a Dismount model cost the same as buying a 112 without a bike and 112 with a bike separately?

This model is unique among bikers in that it has a preexisting non-biker profile which just about everybody already has. Just like I don't expect the eventual Montessa bike model to have a dismount, everybody already has their regular models for that.

Its true we didn't need a Kazak doctor. But thats more because nobody uses the Kazak doctor because he can't link

Not unless they're playing funny games with the numbers it shouldn't.

You know that the Montesa Bikers don't actually have any of the existing Montesa profiles right?

Or it's because in an Ariadna Support Pack, you should be seeing things that everyone can use.

Dozer and 112 are for every Ariadnan force. TAK is the only ones with Kazak Doctors.

So USARF, MRRF, and Caledonia are getting Kazak Doctors now?

Shame they didn't just shove that into the Line Kazaks box--they basically did so anywho with the one sculpt.

Come on man. Not every model in a support box has to be usable in the entire faction. The Sophetect in the ALEPH support box can't be used in Steel Phalanx.

Maybe not "has to be" but certainly "ought to be" usable. However, support boxes seem to be created with vanilla armies in mind, with the exception of the JSA support box. (which existed prior to the "uprising" debacle.)

Anyway, nothing this month for me. However, were I to expand my Yu Jing, the IA box is nice. Dart is adequate.

Nah, motorcycles are fun. And I won't be satisfied till the Kum biker sectorial comes out. All it should add is a Forward Observer profile to Kum Bikers, Kum Bikers gain Fireteam Duo, Kasym gains Inspiring Leadership, Kasym and the twins count as Kum for Fireteam composition. I want my dream of a decent all Bike list to be real.

That and the Aleph ones, are the only exception of such boxes not targeting the "vanilla" faction, all three created by consolidating individual blister SKU in boxes though not created from scratch.

It's not a huge problem for ALEPH, since the Sophotect can serve as a dactyl proxy, and either dactyl can serve as a sophotect, without much fuss. However, getting netrods for Steel Phalanx means getting the Sophotect box.

We'll see what new packaging hijinx CB gets up to with ALEPH, if any, soon enough, as CB starts rolling out those very nice Vedic minis.

Yeah, no. This is the problem that you always seem to have. You forget that Ariadna isn't like other factions where there's lots of crossover.

If I have a TAK or USARF force? I have maybe one or two items that are crossovers without dipping into proxies.

Also funny that if Support Packs are meant to be "vanilla faction", why did we need a Dactyl Support Pack?

Red Harvest wrote:However, support boxes seem to be created with vanilla armies in mind, with the exception of the JSA support box. (which existed prior to the "uprising" debacle.)

Support Boxes were created with Campaign Paradiso in mind. It's still in the product briefs from when they first started doing them:
Spoiler:
ALEPH Support Pack. A new kind of compilation box specially designed by CB for new players and for those ALEPH players who want to play the Paradiso Campaign. The Support Pack of the AI’s army comprises a Sophotect, two Yudbot Remotes and three useful and cheap Netrods to provide Orders for your Army list. Whether you are going to play scenarios or not, this is a release ALEPH rookies cannot go without!

A new kind of compilation box specially designed by CB for new players. Thinking ahead to the ITS missions in which they will be very useful, this Support Pack comprise a Doctor-Engineer model and also their G: Servant Remotes.

The Med-Tech are intelligent bio-artificial units suited to the medical and technical maintenance needs of the entire Combined Army. Thanks to their nano-forges, the Med-Techs create their Slave Drones to operate remotely on the battlefield.
1x MED-TECH OBSIDON MEDCHANOID (Pistol)
2x SLAVE DRONE (Electric Pulse)

But since then? We've gotten the JSA Support Pack, the Tomcat Pack(which is a Support Pack for all intents and purposes, no matter what some might try to argue--it took the Engineer and 'basic goon' model, bundled it with a new Zondcat and Doctor model and called it a day), and the Dactyl Support Pack.

So let's not pretend that they don't understand their own game where some subfactions can't take items and that this would have been a perfect spot for an actual "all-faction" Support Pack for Ariadna, and that the presence of a Kazak Doctor negates it as anything but TAK/Vanilla.

You could always use the Kazak Doctor as something else. It could pass for a Wardriver, Hardcase with Rifle, etc... Its a fairly generic looking model. Ushanka's are quite fashionable everywhere not just in Tartary

Christ, that's something I forgot about.

They could have given us a fricking non-LE Wardriver model, since ALL of the factions can take that.

And no, proxying is not an answer. Also, ushankas aren't "quite fashionable everywhere". Each of the different groups have their own 'flavor' and styles of dress when it comes to everything else. Or at least that's their explanation for the derptastic cowboy hatted Hardcase(which is a stupid concept too) and Derpsperados.

I got to be honest I'm not a huge fan of the Invincible Stuff..
It's by no means garbage...I think it's the concept, I'm just not a fan of it.
Sad to say that too I had high hopes... if Shang Ji get a Unit Set and the Mowang are done well I might get a single build limited insertion force. Gimmicky Liu Xing isn't enough to sell me once they change up the season that models not going to be useful not as much as people are going to use it today in this season under this set of ITS circumstances.

Everything else is a ho hum

I’m assuming a box because it doesn’t specify a load out like the others.

Edit: it is - ‘This box includes four miniatures: One Yadu with HMG, one Yadu with Heavy Rocket Launcher and Submachine Gun, one Yadu Hacker with Boarding Shotgun and one Yadu with Combi Rifle and E/Marat.’

"We can only say at this point that the black It represents another way to play Infinity, and you will love it."

I'm hopeful this is from the "idea list"... because it says "Another way to play infinity" it could be the 15mm scale mentioned! Whootwhoot! that would means Cutters, Raicho, Iguana etc the size of heavy gear models but better.... train pains on big bases Yes Please!

Probally getting ahead of myself but in process of things

1. They have a normal scale skirmish in Aristeia!
2. RPG for in-depth play
3. 15mm Mentioned already

So any thoughts?

I expect Shashvastii v Tohaa... there's bad blood and it makes sense..
Adding to this I think Morat will be the force thats cut this year

I'm quite interested in seeing what the new game or game mode is too. But the wording they used "another way to play" makes me wonder if it's just an campaign rule set or something similar as I think when they were starting to hint at Aristeia! they said a new game out right.

If it is a new game I'm hoping for a dungon crawl or boardgame with minis for a few reasons:

1) Would give them a reason to make more plastics especially considering how many miniatures are required for the RPG (the 2d20 system a lot of encounters are 20+ figures as most things die in one hit). Plus this wouldn't take away from manufacturing for the main game.

2) I could get more people to play then the wargame. Only a few in my group like wargames (RPGS>Boardgames>wargames) so the number of times I get to play is like 4 a year which means each game takes 3 hours as we all have to relearn the rules which means we never play anymore as it takes too long.

3) Would be nice to have a co-op game in the universe.

But a 15mm game wouldn't surprise me considering the company's history with the scale.

Yeah but you guys are forgetting he said a new way to play Infinity that's not going to be a fantasy game although fantasy was mentioned in their game ideas list seen what 2 or 3 years ago... what they did mention related to Infiniti was a 15 mm game and as MonkeySloth said... corvus does have a history with 15 mm...

To be honest it would be a smart move because there are no really cool 15 mm games there's just not.... Heavy Gear is the closest thing and unfortunately it's just dated and not good enough...

They have 3D renders they can be tuned down and made into 15mm models very simply like retrofitting pre-existing 3D renders to a smaller scale is not a huge task that means there's a possibility the 3d line could be scaled down...

Let me edit this before everybody starts screaming about the high high details of the Infiniti line you can cover a lot of that up remove a lot of it because it's not going to read in 15 mm... I'm not naive enough to think that the actual 3D models that exist currently could be scaled down and be sufficient because I know that they're way too detailed there would have to be some detail removal excetera excetera excetera but could totally be done the basics for all the armies are there in 3D
