There are many diffrent types or LR for the loyal SMs many in there books and a few extra for apoc but it seems that chaos hasnt gotten any love in that area fluff or other wise it seems as I couldnt find anything about any of them other then the basic one.(if I am wrong please show me)
So I was wondering what do you guys think would be fun to see in the new csm book(who knows when that will be). A new csm LR variant just for chaos.
What I always thought would be nice would be to have one that could fit 12 and have reaper autocannon sponsons. Maybe even a hull mounted one as well as an upgrade.

Personally, I would prefer having more options for the one we have rather than different varients.
There was a thread in the proposed rules about rhino and land raider varients, though fan made.

Yeah, this. I want the option to take Two Twin-linked Plasma guns on my raiders.
Reaper autocannons are okay. I've only had experience with them on defilers, so I can't say they're bad.
I agree though. I don't understand why chaos doesn't get different weapons than the loyalists. Come on! We don't even have a storm-bolter equivalent!
What we REALLY need is tank marks and trophy racks (that have an effect). Example, take a mark of khorne for your rhino, get the assault vehicle rule, take a slaaneshimark, get POTMS.
Also, give us drop pods. The codex even mentions them, but we still don't have them!

I think it's going to be a while before we see another chaos codex, but it would be great to see a few new options available to make the army seem more, well, chaos-like.
I agree special marked Land Raider and Rhino types would be a brilliant addition to the Chaos forces. Fast Rhinos for Khorne would be good, if a little too similar to Blood Angel vehicles, an up-armoured plague Rhino for Nurgle would fit with the toughness theme of that army, etc.
As for the Land Raiders though, upgrades would be tough to add, if they didn't have drawbacks too, as each would cost way too many points to be feasible. Reapers are about the only Chaos specific weapon for them to use but a Plasma cannon Raider would be unique and awesome too.

To the drop pod comment. I can almost guarantee that we will se dreadclaws when a new release shows up. They are throwing drop pods in all the Sm dexs and even nids have them now. People like drop pods and they sell quite will so adding in dreadclaws would be a very smart move and I know we will see them once its our turn agian.
I had thought about mark rhinos/LR dunno why i didnt put that in there.
(this is in relation to LRs)
Khorne marks give them fast.
Nurgle would give them flame template weapons.
Slan would give sonic weapons.
Tzeentch is a little tougher however. Not sure what you could give them. I guess it could be given some warp energy weapon. Maybe an str 8 ap1 type thing. Maybe a small blast but a short range? 24"?
marked dreads would be equally as epic. At least loose the insane rule at the min.

I've Spent some time thinking about what the different marks would do to vehicles - and i don't think khorne would make them faster, i think that Slaanesh (Or painting them red) would make them faster. Khorne would.... get +1 on the damage chart when ramming.... Nurgle would get -3Ld when Tank Shocking, Tzeentch would always count as behind 5+ Cover.
What do you guys think?

IMO the Khorne thingie is worthless, with Nurgle falling behind the two useful ones, Tzeentch and Slaanesh. Also, a fast land raider might be a tad over the top.

Khorne would probably get something like the Deffrolla that the orks get - D6 str 10 hits on a tank shock, and an additional D6 if the unit Death or Glories.
Nurgle: Parasitic Possesion (4+ chance of repairing immobilized or weaponless vehicles.)
Slannesh: Assault Vehicles (Assault on turn of disembarkment)
Tzeentch: Kustom Force Fields!

I looked up in the old 3.5 chaos dex for the god specific upgrades and they are pretty interesting.
Tzeentch got. When something assualts said veicle with said upgrade they take a str d6 hit before the assualt happens. Interesting but not all to useful
Nurgle got. This upgrade basically gave the tank nurgles rot. Pretty nice.
slan got. The closer you get to said vehicle you take a hit to LD closer you are the worse it gets but the range on it is rather short.
Khorne got. If its on a dread it goes crazy on a 1 or 2 and if it tank shocks the models that moved out of the way take a str bolter hit with armor saves allowed.
Some are clearly better then others. Of course tweentch getting the worst deal haha. I love mine anyways. But I actually like all of those all that would need is tweentch getting a buff to theres and that would all be pretty fun to use.

Hmm I dont think plasma cannons owuld equal a lose of transpot power. It would prolly atay at 10 if anything. I imagine that a plasma cannon and a lasscannon. twin linked at that use up about the same space. Look at dreads for instance.

true, but this GW we are talking about. if they made a model and rules for it, they'd make the rules be like the terminus. stating something like "The plasma cannon's fuel cells take up so much space that there is no transport capacity"

Hopefully dreadclaws will retain their current unique design - the portal at the bottom makes the able to assault from it now, which is totally fluffy
And out equivalent to the SB is the combibolter, which fits the general theme for chaos: slightly lacking at range (1 shot at over 12, albeit twin linked) but much more deadly close up (2 TL shots at 12" is quite harsh...) which is a theme that runs all the way up to BFG (barring some exceptions, like abaddons ship...)
2 reapers on each sponson would be good, give us back a DECENT daemonic possession (i would much rather be able to move and fire both lascannons than ignore stunned and shaken at -1BS, thank you very much...) of some form and at least give *some* upside to the Dreadnoughts - previously you got double attacks if you charged after blood frenzy, which at least got you SOMETHING back....

Also, I'd be happy with a LR that had two twin-linked Plasma Cannons and a reaper autocannon (on the hull). I'd pay the points if it was still 240 and had NO transport capacity. I don't even use Land Raiders as transports, I use them as Just tanks.
A land raider and a unit of Berserkers is over 500 points usually, which is too much in anything less than 2000 points, so it makes sense to just use the land raider as a giant weapons platform in battles of less than 1500 points.
