I am thinking about buying TF2 for the PC, but before I do, there are some questions I need answering.

1)Does it take up a lot of memory on the PC?
2)Can I play it easily on a laptop?
3)Do I need Team Fortress classic to play it?
4)Do people still play it online?

Thanks in advance.

1. I dunno. I play it at a net cafe because my computer is a seven-year-old pile of junk.
2. Depends how new the laptop is. The game is three years old now so it doesn't need a godly computer to run.
3. No, they're completely different games.
4. A lot.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Cheese nailed it. Almost all of the servers for the popular maps and game types are full during the prime-time (ie all of the time).

The game is super popular here in Austrlaia still. Every class went through an update for more weapons\items and the last character was just updated recently. So now all hell has broken loose.

Best multiplayer ever. Got me away from those time waisting MMO's anyway.

Be warned, some very good players here. Prepare to get backstabbed, blown apart and giggled at.

1)Does it take up a lot of memory on the PC? Seriously? Memory is like $2 for a billion RAM. Seriously
2)Can I play it easily on a laptop? You play games on a laptop?
3)Do I need Team Fortress classic to play it? gawd no
4)Do people still play it online? I can play at 2am. So yes.

I can log on at 4am, search for servers, sort by ping and get between 20 and 60+ games with 12+ players with under 100ms. Very popular, well supported game.

Get it cheap on Steam with the orange box if you've not played Portal!

According to valve, about 30 MB, and I only have a 1.6ghz processor, rather than a 1.7.

1) It needs 9 GB or so hard disk space
2) Depends on your graphics card, really. If you mean using a touchpad or something, rather than system specs, depends how good you are with it.
3) No.
4) Hell yeah.

EDIT: You'll probably be fine with just slipping under the system specs. I've done it plenty of time with valve's games.

The game is very good about running on a slightly below spec rig. As long as you're playing on PC or Mac you're golden - the console community for this game is dead and it gets no updates.
