Forever alone

We don't have proms in Australia, bro.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Note that iPlayer radio content is not restricted to the UK, so this is available worldwide. It will be available for the next seven days

..hmm.. I never knew that.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

A Dr. Who prom? Wow, is that the largest group of fat, white guys outside of a Toby Keith concert?

Love Dr. Who, but I think a prom is a bit much.

in short Pip, nope.

Just in case some people are not quite sure:

It isn't and end of year ball, but the BBC promenade concerts at the Albert Hall. The Dr Who prom was braodcast live on Saturday 25th

iPlayer won't work outside of the UK.
IIRC the commontater mentioned a future braodcast on BBC3 television and subsequently will be available on iPlayer as well as the Radio 3 broadcast currently available..

hth

ps just googled Toby jug Keith and for feth's sake there is a smug mug guaranteed to make you want to push a pint pot into it. ye gods. Pip, please be more careful who you reference in future out of consideration for those of us of a more delicate disposition.
sorry, back on topic.

In my Austin Ambassador Y Reg

I saw it on the BBC news the other day and it looked like a fresh spin on the whole Proms / Dr Who thing.

I'm not a Dr Who fan though so it's not really my bag. Good that it gets more young people interested in classical and music in general though rather than listening to the same regurgitated, formulaic crap.
