we're doing inverse functions and i need to find the inverse of...
f(x)=3^x
any help would be thanked

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

So it's x=3^y.
Then convert it into a logarithmic function.
y = log 3 X

god I do not miss that. Algebra like that was never fun.. its why I struggled so hard in calculus.
Ah well, as a software engineer i'll never have to do things like that again! Its all a different type of math

I was going to respond with "42", but then I read it as Inverse, not the Universe I thought it was....

If blackmail and a really convincing sob story both fail and you're down to a final resort, try seducing the teacher. If you can't pull it off, use your siblings. If you DO pull it off, even once, you can use that as blackmail fuel.
