A friend has been toying around with a Space Wolf list and wanted to test it out. I made up a semi-competitive 1850 DE force and then had to trim it down to 1750 since we had miscommunicated about list sizes and I was more willing to do the modification. He's already changed up the list with more long Fangs and less Dreads - as he had issues with its performance. I do hate dealing with 3 Priests all with that horrible Lightning power. I did enjoy dusting off my Wolves and I may even eventually get around to trying to do a list with their new Codex, though I weep for the lack of my power fist Blood Claw swarms.

Really cool battle report, love the HD as well.

Although all my HD footage ends up being to big for youtube's uploader, any tips?

I find the best method is to do a mp4 encode in H264 progressive of the HD footage.

Set the pixels to 1280 x 720, as it will not only make the video a bit smaller for ease of upload but also any bigger then this and YouTube resizes it for you - and they molest the video quality when they do so.

Great battle report. Flows smoothly and very entertaining.

Felt sorry for the SW list though. As soon as I saw his army composition, I knew he was in for a beating. He's not far off though. Exchange 1 dread for a squad of long fangs and put his RP's with his grey hunters in rhinos and he's already much improved.

The Rune Priests were indeed in rhinos (except for one in a Razorback that was dropping Storm Caller. You're probably right that they should all be in Rhinos in order to maximize shooting potential. He also already shifted to another Long Fang Pack, so he's of a similar mind to you in that regard already.

Glad you enjoyed the batrep - they're fun to make but a touch time consuming. I'm still debating whether I like doing the video or picture ones better.

Great bat-rep! I absolutely adore the wych model thats standing on the space marine (I think its a marine =p).

Wow! I enjoyed that a lot.

I liked the background music as it didn't drown out the video if you know what I mean - it was perfect.

I also liked the way the pieces were introduced - I do not have to know all the wargear so the way you did it was nice.

Narration was done well - I think the fade to black method for narration wasn't distracting at all either.

I think it was nice over all and I think video bat reps have their own niche compared to a written battle report. Maybe its because video bat reps do not focus on the details as much as you would with a written one and you can just get away with showing a unit versus describing it.

I do like both methods - I can get more out of a written one as I like to hear and see the details, your thought process or your opponents. So yah, video bat reps are not really great learning tool than it is a visual hobby tool. I got to see a lot of how your models looked, how they closed in on the enemy and you used terrain - I hope I am describing that right, it's just a different way of showing the hobby side of the game!

Now, what I didn't see - any Dark Eldar glyphs or fonts in the narration. Anyone can ask for it from me, just send me a private mail (pm) with your email address and I will send it to you when I get the chance.

I have the Dark Eldar True Type Font and I can send it to you if you like - it sure would look awesome if you could insert into your next projects narration.

I understand what you're saying as reagards the videos vs. pics concept and totally agree. Maybe I'll make that a consideration and do more videos for "fun" get togethers and do more pic reports when I'm playing competitively. That sounds like a good mental division.

Totally PMed you for the font as well, that would be sweet.

Grats on the beat down of the Space Puppies. Its always nice to see them beaten. We have so many around my area you can't take a step but for steeping on a SW player.

@Vrakk - They did seem to suddenly bloom, didn't they? I guess we'll see the same effect for the DEdex when it comes out all brand new and shiny.

@Sanguinor - it is pretty intimidating when you consider that by turn 3 his reserves were already showing up too late to really effect the tide of battle. DE can be stupid fast.

Wow, great Batrep! Loved the music and editing. I had never seen DE on the tabletop before and I had no idea they were that nasty!

They are indeed a very fast glass hammer. If you have the tools to break apart their Raiders quickly enough you can survive unscathed. If not...well, at least it ends quickly usually.
