Hey everyone,

Just a quick note that we're hosting our normal 'second Saturday' GW tournament on August 14th.

On the 40k side, we'll be doing things a little different; we've been running the tournaments at the 2000-point level for the last few events and that's gone very well. This time we'll be experimenting with a streamlining of soft scores in general and comp scores in particular, and unabashedly trying a thumbs up/thumbs down system to see how it works.

For Fantasy Battle, we will be running the new 8th edition at 2500 points, with all of the madness I'm sure that will entail.

For both events, we will be running 3 rounds starting at 10:00am, with a $10 entry (or $20 GW purchase). There will be prizes for Best Overall, Best General, Best Sportsman, and Best Army at a 90-20-20-20 split in GW Product.

The schedule will stick as closely as possible to the following:
9:00am - 10:15 - check-in, sign-up, event preamble, pairings
10:15am - 12:30pm - Round 1
12:30 - 1:00 - Lunch
1:00 - 3:15 - Round 2
3:30 - 5:45 - Round 3
6:00 - Winners announced

It all goes down at Game Empire Pasadena

2302 E. Colorado Blvd.
Pasadena, CA. 91107
626-304-9333

If you have any questions, let me know and hopefully I'll see you there!

You should call the number but they rarely cancel.

Yeah, if I was in town I'd be there. The only one I think they've cancelled was the one on the same weekend as the 2nd round of Ard Boyz and that fail Indy GT because they figured they wouldn't get the traffic. And the move to thumbs-up/thumbs-down almost makes me wish I wasn't gonna be in DC for the Open. Next month gentlemen!
