Looking sweet. Incidently, that SoB backpack is really sweet. Never knew it had a fuel canister on the back. >:O

The priest with the eviscerator looks really nice. I particularly like the apparent weedyness, combined with the strength to lift a giant chainsaw with one hand.

It really emphisizes how mad and devouted he is.

the canonness looks very cool. you may want to ask the mods to move this to Painting and Modelling Blogs as that's what you're planning on doing with the thread. it's where people looking for big projects tend to go and you might get posted on dakka's front page under the current blogs ad!

I opened a topic yesterday about my armylist and I was given some good tips and advise, but it also ment I had to update my Cannoness a bit. She now has a Jump Pack and Frag Grenades and Melta Bombs. And so I did some updating of the model:

I also started painting my second Priest, i think he is kind of in a swinging motion, bringing his Evsicerator (that would make an Ork jealous) around. You dont want to be on the recieving end of that thing!

Wow, that 'jump pack' looks pretty damn nice for such a simple conversion! I can't really see her taking off with it anytime soon though. Perhaps you could make it look more functioning by attaching something like the vents from a Marine/CSM backpack below the fuel canister. Will give it that extra bit of believability (as far as you can say that in 40K) while still being subtle and feminine

Rest looks splendid! (although I do hope for that priest that those purity seals are machine washable, 'cause the ones on that eviscerator will be acquiring those hard-to-get-out heretic bloodstaines)

good luck,
Tim

I agree with you on the Jump pack TiB. I was thinking about glueing Lasgun muzzles under it or something, probably a bad idea. But you're right, a little something to give it a more Jump-pack-nesk (?) look.

Today I finally finished my second Priest. I didnt have much time on my hands because I have been asked to design an album cover for my friends band and that swallows allot of time. But I will get paid for it in the end, with the 40k novel 'Helsreach' and some money which im going to use to expand my army.
But enough of that, here are the pictures, Im very sorry that I had to take them inside but at the moment the heaven is falling from the sky here in Holland.

They look quite handsome together, dont they?
And to finish it of, a whole army shot, haha. Sweet Emperor, Im going to die of old age before that Rhino is finished.

Greetings, Timonth

Thanks allot you all! Keeps me going. My birthday is in a week so im going to get some money/miniatures. Well.. I hope, depends if my parents love me of course.

@Saqeheart: I got the chainswords here and there. What I basically did was taking a chainsword, cutting off just the tip. Then taking another chainsword and cutting of the whole blade. Then glueing those two together. Then I glued a purtity seal on the place where the two pieces connect, help it reinforce. I used the chainsword bits from and Imperial Guard sergeant, a Imperial Guard Heavy Weapon Team, the sergeant in the Assault on Black Reach box and I cant really remember where I got the last one. You have to watch out thou that you dont take two pieces of chainsword that havent got the same with. The sword already look a bit wiggily but if it blade gets broader all of the sudden its going to look worse.

@allthepeoplewhoasked : I used the heads from the Empire Battle Wizard set. (I like the one with the beard and the pointy hair most, it looks so demented.) Then I took a Space Marine head (helmet or not, doesnt matter,) that had a bionic eye on it. What I did was, instead of cutting the eye from the head, I cut the poor guys head off of the bionic eye piece. When i was left with only the eye piece I "hallowed" it out so to speak. Basically making the inside round so it would fit around the Battle Wizard's head. Then I just glued it onto the eye, if you are lucky (like me ) the glue wil actually melt it in a way that it looks natural (as far as a bionic eye is natural) and doesnt leave any gaps between the head and the eye.

If you want to know more just ask, I dont mind telling how I modelled the whole Priest start to finish.

I hope this helps a bit, Im dutch so excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes. I have finished all the metal on the left side of my Rhino now, so whats left is tidieng it up and then the blue was is going over it. With a little luck I finish it before my birthday so I have a fresh start with new minnies. Highly doubt it thou.

Cheers,
Tim

Another little update from me, the Rhino is still isn't finished but it is getting really close to finishing now, as you can see in the pictures.

And I stripped the Space Marine Commander from AOBR today, he almost looks naked without all his gear.

And these are all the cool bitz I got out of him.

From left to right:
- Nice sword
- Very detailed bolter, with his arm still attached. I will see if I cut it of as soon as I am using it
- Nice Aquila collar which is probably going on the back of my IG company commander
- Some loincloth with a sweet skull on it, might paint it up like a purity seal-like idea
- Awsome banner, might also just use the skull on top of it. Banner is probably going to be the platoon standard for my Guard part of the army
- Some pouch, I have got another 10 of those of the Guardsmen I own so nothing that special
- Pretty messed up backpack, it doesn't look to bad but it's missing two vents and the back is one big mess

Well, thats all from me for now. Sorry I don't update to frequently, but I cant be painting Warhammer all the time.

Cheers,
Tim

Hello again everyone!

I got myself two blisters of Vostroyans for the Imperial Guard part of my army, one blister with 3 troops and one with 2 snipers. I absolutely LOVE these models, they are so detailed! I already started painting one.

Look at the epic pose of these two, absolutely love them.

Assembling the voxcaster to his back was a real pain in the arse. What I didn't know was that the models had all kinds of what-nots on their backs, like grenades, little energy packs and ammo belts. But with some pinning I got the caster on his back.

This actually is about 5/6 hours of painting for me. Yeah, im a VERY slow painter. But I'm really looking forward to seeing this unit finished.

Cheers,
Tim

Step by step is allot of work, I might get to it but school started again so I only got time to paint in the weekends.

Apart from that, I finished the Guardsmen. And here he is.

I am satisfied with the result myself, but what do you think? By the way, I have this problem with paint coming of the whole time. On the photo you see the white spots on the ammo pouches on his back. I really dont know how this is happening, because the paint holds on like normal on all the other parts. I need to start looking for a can of vernis, I'm afraid.
