The title says it all. I'm looking to expand my wargaming horizon and I was hoping if you guys could provide some suggestions. I currently play all gw sci-fi games, so please don't mention those. I want the models to come unassembled and unpainted, so no websites that sell models prepainted. If you guys could provide a link to the website, that be swell. Thanks in advance guys!

Infinity seems to be really popular, I've never played it but only heard good things.

Battletech is pretty sweet. I'd suggest checking it out here.

You said you play all GW sci-fi games, so I'm guessing you play Battlefleet Gothic? If you like space battle type games and like Star Trek at least a little bit, Federation Commander is interesting. If you like really complex games, Starfleet Battles might be worth checking out as well.

Laserburn is older, but could be interesting, as 40k draws a lot from it.

I love bfg. It's my second favorite 40k game other than, well the actual 40k game. Thanks. And yeah, I like star trek, so again, thanks.

Does this include SF minis and rulesets that have fallen by the wayside in GWs one-eyed market domination?

If so, then Warzone may fit the bill.
At least 6 factions (4 corporations, 1 demonic, one misguided).
Plastic and metal multipart models in 28mm.
Unpainted (This is NOT the 54mm pre-painted game).

Void 1.0. Humans v humans and aliens. Resin and metal models in 28mm.
Kryomek (Humans v alien swarm creatures).
Resin and metal miniatures for both factions.

The latter two available through Scotia Grendel webstore.

Tomorrows War from Ambush Alley Games is out end of September.

Its just a ruleset, so you can use any figures for it.

*Warning - You may have to use your imagination with this game system rather than be spoon fed.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Firestorm Armada yet:

http://www.spartangames.co.uk/firestorm_armada.htm

It is a fairly new game, and it is similar to BFG in terms of scope...the starter boxes come with a battleship, 3 cruisers, and 6 frigates. I"ve been really enjoying the game, and it has the advantage of being a system that is actively supported with new models.

Also keep your eyes open for Firestorm: Invasion, which is the ground-based game set in the same universe. Supposedly, the rules will be able to be used with 6mm, 15mm, and 28mm minis. No firm release date on this one yet, so it is going to be a while probably.

Kryomek rules were made available as a free download a couple of months ago.
I've still got my rulebook though, and quite a bit of terrain and nexus forces (including 3 striders).

I forgot about another one. Urban War and it's larger spin-off, Metropolis. Some of the minis for these games are quite cool I think. You can check it out at Urban Mammoth's website.

Depends what you mean by wargame really. Do you think 40k is a wargame?
