Looking to change things up a bit after all the Marines I've been playing lately and Orks seem like tons of fun to deal with these days so...

Gazghkull Thraka
Big Mek: KFF

10x Burna Boyz
5x Lootas
5x Lootas

10x Gretchin: +1x Runtherd
15x Boyz: +1x Nob: Powerklaw, Bosspole
15x Boyz: +1x Nob: Powerklaw, Bosspole
7x Diversitifed Nobz: Painboy, 3x Powerklaw, 1x Big Choppa, 1x Kombi-Rokkit, 2x Ammo Runt, 1x Bosspole
+Battlewagon: Big Shoota, Armor Plates, Boarding Plank, Deffrolla, Grabbin Klaw, Grot Riggers

Deffkopta: TL Rokkit Launcha, Buzzsaw
Deffkopta: TL Rokkit Launcha, Buzzsaw
3x Warbuggy: TL Rokkit Launcha

Battlewagon: Big Shoota, Armor Plates, Boarding Plank, Deffrolla, Grabbin Klaw, Grot Riggers
Battlewagon: Big Shoota, Armor Plates, Boarding Plank, Deffrolla, Grabbin Klaw, Grot Riggers
Battlewagon: Big Shoota, Armor Plates, Boarding Plank, Deffrolla, Grabbin Klaw, Grot Riggers

Seems like rather straightforward mech/Battlewagon nonsense. Gazzie and the Big Mek load up and the Wagons stick together in KFF range until I need to get the boyz out and get down to business. Am I missing anything important in a list like this?

Did you just take this from DashofPepper's threads about his orks? If not fine, if so then homage is courtious.

Since it is practically if not the same list, I would say it is fairly competitiive, he seems to have excellent luck with it, though he has considerable experience with orks.

Once again, not accusing you or anything, but if you are influenced by DoP, then keep in mind his list is extremely talored to his general play-style and you may be better off starting with something more basic to feel them orksies out first...

There are differences, dash uses 15 burnas instead of 10 etc.

But anyway my thoughts are beef up that burna squad to 15, it will roast pretty much anything including terminators and carnifexes (nothing like at least 15 garunteed hits coming out of a battlewagon)

Seeing as how I don't know the breakdown of the nobs and whats on each it doesnt look like they are all completely diversified (I could be wrong in this of course). I would add in more kombi-rokkits to put down fexes or put a real hurting on marines before the charge, or swap them to my favored method which is kombi-skorchas. Great for taking out hordes or smaller groups and takes away the need for ammo grots -.0

No I did not take his list. In fact I don't really spend too much time bothering with keeping up on what the internet 40k celebrities are doing. I know he's a fantastic player thought and I've read his battle reports from NOVA and was actually surprised about how similar to his list mine is at the moment. I was even planning on PMing him for advice if he didn't respond here lol. I took his idea about the Burna Boyz unit, but that is basically it. Everything else in my list feels like obvious and standard choices for mech Orks. Having played against a variety of different mech Ork lists in recent weeks (helping a friend playtest) gave me a real good idea of the things that seem to work and not work. I've actually played against this exact list a few times now actually (I've had it on army builder for a couple of weeks and asked my friend to play with it and let me know what he thinks) and I like it. A while back I got about 20 games in with a few various Ork lists (Kan Wall though) as well so I'm not entirely unfamiliar with them.

To be honest the list basically does the things I want to do with my BA but it feels like its a little better at it because it fits a bit more stuff into the army. I initially tried a mech type of BA that was similar to this in function but found I was always missing something with it. Since it is very different from the way I'm currently playing the BA (and CSM for that matter) it is exciting and interesting for me.

The Nobs are completely diverse:
PK
PK, Ammo Runt
PK, Bosspole
Slugga/Choppa
Slugga/Big Choppa
Slugga/Choppa/Ammo Runt
Painboy

If you are able to cut something for more points I would suggest dropping the runt and putting in a waaagh banner. The additional weapon skill helps tons in winning against termies and such.

Hmm, in that case I would say this list is a good choice just remember to keep your BW in check, as no doubt they are the lifeline of the army. other than that, nothin really to say except test it over and over and find what doesnt work...

Seems polished otherwise.

And I didnt mean any offense, I was simply curious as there are many similarities, I dont really care if had taken his list, it seems to work and its not spam central or cheese so go for it. As well, I dunno if Id go rokitz on the buggies, bs 2 isnt going to get you far even with TL, and if you were to say make them scorcha tracks, then they could be a sudden and devestating force close up, considering they will most likely be screening anyways.

just a thought...

PS: scorcha tracks are cheaper ;D

Four battle wagons all with deffrollas.. one of them is carrying painful CC and another carrying the barbeque. scary stuff

I can imagine within the first few turns the deffrollas will mulch several tanks and whatever else in your way
(seen a deffrolla on turn one blast right through infiltrating troops and destroying them outright. They had 5 meltas too! lol)

other then that the list is pretty solid. keep those BW's safe and youll be golden

That unless your willing to play about 20 games with it against good players you're going to be stomped by tier one armies.

And 3 pks it point sinking, not redundancy, a BC is a much more point effective buy once you're upto 8 Str9 attacks at WS5... and not running maximum ablative wounds abd you havn't optimised you wargear as it is, look at your codex again tell us what you've missed.

Should have 20 Boyz per unit so they last longer in larger games and those Nobz could be slimmed down to make way for them. They also need cybork bodies too.

Good advice here.

Interesting with the Skorcha Trakks. The Buggies are some rocket shots against MCs and also good at glancing down those pesky light armor vehicles that have good guns on them. THey move quick(ish) too so they can get around into the sides of Chimeras and stuff.

True. I needed to save a few points so I brought the Ork units down a bit. I wanted Cybork Bodies on my nobz but didn't find the points. Where do you think I could free up the points for these changes?

The list will be play tested into oblivion, no doubts about that. I figured I could save a small amount of time by getting some input from experienced players running this type of list. It'll probably get 30+ games over the next month or two so I Can really iron it out.

This is how I would kit out your nobz:
7x Nobz
PK-Waaagh Banner
PK
Big Choppa-Bosspole
Big Choppa
Vanilla-Ammo Runt
Vanilla
Painboy

You could probably trim some upgrades from your Battlewagons to get those last boyz. They really are necessary. You're trading boyz for toyz and that is never good.
