So, can a unit start his life inside a Valkyrie? For example, I have a Vet Squad. Can they start the game inside the Valkyrie? Or, if they're in reserve, can they be inside the Valkyrie when I Deep Strike it in?

Yes, people seem to misapply the dedicated transport rule saying only the unit that purchased them can start the game inside.

But thats only for dedicated transports, regular vehicles with transport capacity can begin the game with anyone inside, and if the vehicle has scout/deepstrike it can scout/infiltrate/deepstrike with the embarked unit along for the ride without their needing to share the rule.

I think I might need to buy more Valkyries. O.o

i wish you could mix valkyries and vendettas. like have 2 vendettas and one valkyrie in one squad. Oh well, mayby ill post it under proposed rules?

I thought you had to place them both on the board and then actually embark when they were close. I'm taking more vets now

On a related note, if I have a Vet squad with Chimera, can I start the Vet Squad in the Valkyrie and just keep the Chimera in reserve separately?

I don't know about the chimera in reserve but yes, you can start with the Vet's in the valk.

Chimeras can. Any dedicated transport may start the game with units inside. Weather in reserves or not. I do this w/ my platoon commander Al'rhaiem, and have my valk deep strike in next to it with an infantry squad..i dismbark the infantry squad, and begin pwnage.

All dedicated means is squad that "bought" it are the only ones that can start in it. anyone can ride in it. they just have to start outside the ride, then move in to it on first or later turns.
