I just got a box of 28mm vikings with no bases. What would be the best size base to put them on, and by best I mean most common for a game with their size. I'm not really planing on playing a game with them but it would be nice to know.

Well, if you ever want to use them in a game of Warhammer Fantasy Battles (possibly as Chaos), you would probably put them on 25mm square bases. If you're looking at Warhammer Ancients (probably a better option), you'll instead want to use 20mm square bases, as these are now standard for infantry in that game.

Ok, thanks for that and a quick response will probably go with the 20mm. Thank you again.

Historical games tend to be quite easy going as far as basing goes, just as long as there's not a huge difference between both sides.

A lot of Historical rules use bases of multiple figures, having your guys based individual means you can just stick them on movement trays of the required dimensions to make them compatible.
