Forge World have just put the new IA:9 models up on their site.

Imperial Armour Volume 9: The Badab War

Sweet new Huron model

Some sort of Sorceror character.

And a pretty nice poster!

Shame it isn't being released before Games Day, otherwise I'd be getting some of that, especially the new Huron.

The 'Sorcerer' is a loyal SM Librarian from the Red Scorpions. I don't remember the Red Scorpions having anything to do with the Badab war, but it seems FW are going to shoehorn them in anyway....

actually they have always been involved, right from way back in White Dwarf whatever.

They it will be available to buy at GD though.

They look pretty sweet, nice to see the Librarian painted. I'll defo be buying the Libby set for the honour guard and for a cool looking Librarin (I'll change the head though).

@ArbitorIan: They won't be shoehorning them in, they'll just make it seem like it was the Red Scorpions who won the Badab War for the Imperium and that all the other chapters only helped a little.

Seriously? Wow, I'm definitely getting them, that Sorceror model looks superb! I sense some new psychic reinforcements for my Blangels!

The Scorps were one of the myriad of chapters brought in in the initial stage of the war. I believe they were one of the group of chapters charged with protecting the trade routes around the Maeltrom from Astral Claw attack.

The Honor Guard with the Librarian is pretty freakin sweet.

The Huron model though? I'm not sure. Nice detail and stuff, but not Huron-y enough or something. I understand this model is likely from his Imperial (pre-Chaos) days, but still. Cool Terminator captain though.

yay. More Space Marines. I was afraid that the Space Marine players would start to feel left out if they didn't get something soon.

It would be nice if they did some not Imperial stuff.

It would be really nice if they got off their duff and got the Fantasy Forge World going.

Yay. Another whiner about Forge World doing Imperial models for Imperial Armour. These threads are never complete without them!

Fiend:
This is Huron before he got half his body torn off by a Combi-Melta blast. That happened at the conclusion of The Badab War, and this is the outset of it.

Oh, I really like the Luft minature! Really nice, its almost a shame he is reduced from that to the Traitor miniature that he becomes later on

Loving the Librarian as well, love the pose and the detail!! Not too impressed witht he honur guard, but then maybe they rock when painted.....almost tempted to go t GD to see these in the flesh, I onder if tickets will be availible on the day?

Man down, Man down....

Huh?

There are plenty of force/power weapon hands out there - some are already right-handed!

Why would you pay FW prices for that?!?

I love the Huron model, especially as all of the symbols on him are generic (apart from maybe on the standard) and so he is easily useable in other armies

The Libby is pure awesome, the best SM model I've seen so far from GW or FW! But I really love Mk4 armour so maybe I'm biased
The Command Squad are nice, but there is a LOT of Red Scorpions stuff to remove :(

In a world gone mad, who is left to fight for truth, justice and all that gets you smashed for under a fiver....

First played 40k during 2nd edition, missed out 3rd and 4th, and haven't played 40k since 5th edition - but still read and occasionally paint

Word. It's really annoying that so many cool models are chapter specific (mainly GW). I remember when I could buy a box of Blood Claws and use that to create a Crusader Squad for my BT. Now it's all wolf pelts, teeth and gak. Same thing with BA. They have some cool models, but they're covered in chalices and blood drops. This must have a negative impact on sales since the target audience is so much narrower, but I guess there's still more SW players than Tau players.

The claw on Huron looks BEAST! Head looks a bit 'derp' though.

Libby with MK IV helm is exactly what I need. I'll probably pick up IA9 even though the cover is the worste one they've printed.

That Honor Guard is wonderful for two reasons:

1: The usual amazing detail.

2: With separate, regular SM legs it will be a lot easier for those of us who want to truescale all things Marine to work with. Not having to saw as much resin, not having to discard at least half of every amazing SM model, and being able to bung it right onto, say, Chaos Warrior legs or something cast up... wonderful. When I get my TS Marine force up and running these are _definitely_ going to be the command models.

Hey, would anyone here be so kind as to sharpen up the Huron rules that are in the IA:9 demo shots there? I can't quite make them out, even with magnification.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

That librarian looks like its begging to be converted to a sorcerer of Tzneetch, IMO.

As I'm sure you know, that's the point.

I understand that this is the pre-melta'd Huron. I think the model is really cool as a terminator captain or Master or something, but the head throws it off for being Huron, for me anyways.

Do you think a pic of Lugft all painted up would sell more or less models?

As for the UltraScorps, no thanks.

The painted Huron isn't actually done, apparently. GW's "What's New Today" has the WIP shots of it, courtesy of Keith Robertson though.

Quick call the True Scale police, someone mentioned Ture Scale!!!

Actually, a friend of mine is getting some True Scale arms and legs made, that fit to a standard torso and shoulder pads, apparently, the head and torso need no real modification to make them the correct scale its just the arms and legs that are out!!

True Scale problem solved in approximatley one months time....yippeee! Both legs and arms are generic, so no I.P infringement either....

So, these FW kits are looking even more exciting now I know that!

Man down, Man down....
