Which do you think evolved into Tyranids? Lizardmen? Skaven? Or both?

Neither.

Tyranids came from another Galaxy. Lizardmen were the Old Ones (most likely) and are all dead now.

Skaven aren't in 40K. ALthough I have seen some cool skaven to IG converted armies.

I've always preferred the idea that Fantasy happens after 40k, or at least concurrent with it.

Space Skaven do exist. They are known as the Hrud and art can be found for them as well as their warp weapons. Some of which are even in the new Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy RPG games.

Tyranids are a seperate entity that can break down the genetic material of other lifeforms to integrate into future nid creatures.

To be fair, the Hrud look absolutely nothing like skaven, instead looking something like a shadow-shrouded and very slimy Choker a la D&D. Disgusting little buggers...

As per the designers, 40k and Fantasy are completely separate settings completely unrelated to one another. While originally based off of one another and sharing a common setting (somehow) the designers have since moved away from that stance.

Thus, the Tyranids didn't evolve from any of the options you listed.

Nor are the Hrud space skaven. While originally they were, recent artwork depicts them as being something completely different.

EDIT: Besides... Ogres have more in common with nids than either Skaven or Lizardmen...

Isn't the Warhammer world a world in the Eye of terror? Or that was the case at some point? Or hinted to be the case?

I think those ideas are only really supported by the Realms of Chaos books, which spanned both systems for the most part. There's no suggestion of any connection since Rogue Trader as far as I know.

Neither did. They're all completely different.

And, unrelated, please come up with sensible threads. 1/3 of your threads have been closed down already.

This is in no way possible. Nids have more in common with the movie 'alien' than WFB.

Tyranids are from another galaxy, as previously stated.

Also, your signature is hideous. Please make it less so.

The best guess is that the two settings are currently unrelated, except when they aren't... For example, the Albion 'reward' items that seemed very WH40k from years back...

Then again, the power of the Warp can do nearly anything.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Does that come under lizardman or skaven.

In my mind Fantasy is what happens after the apocalyptic battle at the "end of 40k".

One day the Skaven will unearth a suit of power armor or something similarly bad ass

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes...

1) WFB and 40k are not connected.
2) Tyranids are from another galaxy.

I thought the cover of the old Skaven army book (the on with a skaven in golden armor atop a horde of... stuff... already looked like the main rat was in some sort of bad attempt to make power armor, really...

3. Except when they are, such as very old probably-not-canon fluff or more recent stuff like the Albion rewards.

I like to think they are, just because the idea of Sigmar being one of the lost primarchs is really very cool. I know it's not canon anymore, and has been completely jossed, but I like to think that the Warhammer World is either out there on the edge of the Imperium, or lost in the Eye of Terror.

Also, isn't there more...modern fluff that says that Fantasy Orcs came as spores with the Old Ones or something?

Edit: In this guys defence...he could be asking which race thematically became the Tyranids? Even then though...the answer is still neither, but does make the Skaven a slightly better answer. From a certain point of view, of course.

Doesn't change the fact that Tyranids are from another galaxy and GW has stated that the old stuff isn't canon.

But yes, Elves, Orcs, and Humans are all from the same planet.

In the original Rogue Trader rules (first edition 40k), lizardmen were as race, and Tyranids were a separate race. They were original to 40k, they didn't come from a fantasy race.

It was until they retconned it to make the two games completely sperate, but that didn't stop the Orks/Orcs

Thus they happen at the exact same time, and now they don't.

Slann existed in 40k RT as one of the "old one" races.
Presumably they had their own slave/servitor species to look after.

Tyranids are exo-galactic. They come from 'out there, thataway" somewhere.

Neither are related to any current 40k race, but you could have 'space skaven' in RT though (there was enough variability with races and tables and so on).

Neither evolved into Nids, because the way I see it, the two places are on the opposite side of the Warp. It makes more sense because the Daemons travel between the two constantly.

I don't really think there is any evidence or even a suggestion that any of the races mentioned are connected or will or even could evolve into the Tyranids. As such, with most of any such discussion having already taken place, I'm going to lock this now.
