I think it should be very simple. Add some jagged edges with a few triangular plasti-card blades and hatches to the main wings, delete the R2 unit, angle the vertical stabilizers outwards (with a different angle for the top pair than the bottom), add some pipes around the engines and paint the front of the cockpit in a chaos star pattern. And lots of icons. But use painted or brass etch. The plastic from the vehicle sprue is too thick for aircraft.

Then post pictures for us!

"As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely just a result of wishful thinking." Pete Haines
For the love of the Emperor people, it's a TURRET. There is no such thing as a turrent!

oh you know i will! both here and my P and M blog!!
im turning these into hell blades but magnetizing the weapons in case i ever want to upgrade to a talon..

i want to add plasticard to the tip oh the wings and make them pointy as well as a small tail fin type tthing. see the wings how they fold in an out? well i noticed on the hell blade theres a dip in that area so on the starfighter the grey area beneath/within the wing i cut out!, im also going to cover up the cockpit.... maybe.... oh and i'll make tubes comeing out with guitar strings. one pair of autocannons on the hull another where the lasers are

I think they'd work pretty well. Like before lose R-2 and break up the roundness of the cockpit and you'll be set. If you wanted you could add more of a "chaos" pattern to the top surfaces of the wings using plasticard, but if you're painting a pattern, its probably not worth that effort.
