Those Wizards are superb. You have really captured the feel of two very different branches of magic and I have really enjoyed seeing them. Brilliant.

My general lack of hobby funds plus some great deals out there for Christmas and the return of Necromunda may have me all baffled. Even this Tuesday monolith is selling the king pledge for Conan again (although at 10% more) which will be shipped in November of this year. 200 figs for $150 plus shipping I backed out of the original Kickstarter due to some of their phrasing and feel that the shipping was going to slip. Which it did, but I hear the game is a blast and the quantity of stuff is insane. I love me some Necromunda, but it's also an ongoing item that I can pick up later.

Ta chaps! Much later than promised, here are the other two Wizards from the box:
Once again, I wanted an opposing pair, so here, the first is a composed, heroically standing wizard using magic to conjure the spirits of fallen soldiers to defend his home, the other is magi as a destructive force, standing amidst the devastation he caused and preparing to unleash further fury... He also has a fancy fire cape because I wanted to paint a fancy fire cape, but that's neither here nor there...
That's all for now, cheers for looking and any thoughts welcome!

If that bottom dude could talk, he would for sure sound like Skeletor. He would also be trying to explain how his sick hair makes him look like a flaming skull.

Templar Terminator Time!
My entry into this month's challenge, a Black Templars Terminator. Base model was a Dark Vengeance Terminator with some of the more notably DA icons removed, fortunately there's a fair bit of crossover between BT and DA motifs (mainly swords). As usual for my BT, there's a bit more red in there than you typically see, I find it does a good job from preventing the monochrome look and adding some variety to the palette while allowing you to keep your blacks black and your whites white.
And while we're doing Templars, here's one I made (about 2 months) earlier that I never showed off, he was a proof of concept/test for the Swordsmaster I did back in the summer and I only recently got around to actually photographing him. He's a little rough around the edges, but I figured I might as well throw him up here because I'm quite pleased with the overall feel and tone of the model, even if the paintwork is a bit sloppy and he was only a test.
That's all for now, check back soon for more Marines, maybe some other stuff as well (I'm actually kind of running low on minis, hurry up with those Necromunda and Fallout releases! )
Cheers for looking, any thoughts welcome!

Ta mate.
A couple more Marines today, again one new and one a few weeks old that I didn't get around to posing.
First up, the new one, a Hawk Lords Tactical Marine with a plasmagun. After doing a few mad kitbashes and fancier Marines, I wanted something nice and simple as a bit of a palette cleanser. Gave him a Plasma Gun for a little extra visual flair, and chose the HL scheme as purple is a colour I often struggle with, so I wanted to give it a go on a model that I 'knew' inside out, the basic gun-toting Tactical Marine pose.
And from a while back, one of the aforementioned kitbashes, an Iron Hands Sergeant. Bionic arm from Anvil, masked head from Skitarii, tabard from a Necron Lychguard, a few other odds and ends.
That's all for now! Thanks for looking, any thoughts welcome!

Cheers. Skitarii heads like that do work quite nicely on SM, they're a tad smaller than regular Marine heads, but those are oversized anyway so it all works out.

Update, featuring Not A Space Marine! Yes, it's still futuristic sword-wielding armoured supersoldier, but it's a lady one! Infinity.... Infinity. I've always had a love-hate relationship with that game, the models themselves are often superb but I never really got them to 'work' with my style, they were just to opposite to what I normally do. Every so often I take a crack at one just to see if I can 'get it', and I think just this once I might have done. The limited edition Joan of Arc mini that came with the Angel Giraldez book is one of my favourite minis across any range ever and I recently decided I'd give her another go as my first attempt really didn't cut it! Here she is. I really tried here to focus on strong red and blue on the armour, far more saturated than I normally go, and on the contrast and fine highlights (shudder! ). Yeah, I'm happy with her for now. Maybe I'll revisit in another two years and see what I can do with her then! In the more immediate term, I shall probably unpack and redo some more Infinity stuff next time I'm home, even if I can't always get them right they're always good fun to work on. That's all for now, any thoughts welcome, and thanks for looking! And while I'm here, after a few recent challenge entries that weren't particularly eye-catching or popular, I'm really looking to push myself and get back to some top half a dozen finishes, so if anyone wants to jump in with some general critique on areas I can improve and develop as a painter then please do so, either here or by PM if you'd prefer! Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Yeah, I think you got it this time. Infinity is a very bright and colourful game, so the more gritty grimdark style that you are known for can be hard to apply. However, this mini looks ace - you got the dark to light pretty much perfect. Very well done Para!

Beautiful model dude, loving what you did with her and I think you should be proud. The retry a model you've previously attempted and weren't happy with the results is very brave and this model is a clear indicator of how far you've come. Fantastic work.

Darn it Graven, this is me trying to not be grim and moody!
Nah, fair enough, I appreciate that even though this is clean and colourful by my regular standards it's still a long way off what most consider the Infinity 'look', but to be honest I'm happy enough with that. I don't want to depart too far from the underlying strengths of my style, just develop it in a few different ways.

New thing!
Painted this guy up for the monthly challenge, I needed something spooky and I've had my eye on this model for a while. Pretty pleased with the final product, although I spent too much time agonising over the last few details and possibly lost something in the process. Still though, a lovely model to paint, and gets me in practice doing worn armour and bone for the upcoming Shadespire Skeletons, which I imagine I'll be painting in the near future.
As always, thanks for reading, any thoughts welcome!
