Always wanted to attempt sculpting, so decided on creating a Vampiress bust.

I have used Super Sculpey for the bust.

Inspired by some Lahmian art from GW, I spent most of Saturday working on the bust.

The most difficult task was to try and get the mouth and eyes right....and it seems I still need some work -_- for I can't seem to get the proportion right.

As this being my first sculpt please be as harsh (and gentle) in the criticism. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for looking

Hmmm...not sure how to look at this one. I have a feeling you're probably close to replicating your source material, but that it isn't very well proportioned itself. Other than the hair looking a little coarse, it looks like you've got some good skills going on.

Pretty good job. Only big thing is that in my opinion, the cheeks seem a little big, or the face is a little tall/narrow. But then again, that might be what you're looking for! Good job. I'm guessing you were trying to put a look of contempt or something similar into the mouth, but the lips stick out too muck, almost as if she's puckering up/kissing. However, the idea is nice, instead of the usual "vampire baring their teeth" look. you did well on the clothes, nose, and eyes.

Well done man, first for trying to expand your skills and second for putting it up for critiquing!

My thoughts were that the head is too big for chest and shoulders, if the whole bust it was in proportion it would bring the face into proportion. As it is the chin and cheekbones seem too big but if the shoulders were wider the mouth would seem more of a rosebud as opposed to a normal mouth in a large face, I hope I'm not being too confusing there.

Anyway your sculpt is great and certainly something I havn't attempted yet, bravo!

Optimisim: Great job for a first attempt!

Criticism: Her face seems a little long and distorted (she looks like she just smelled a fart), and her boobs seem a bit high up on her chest (or she has a kick-ass pushup bra).

@Schmapdi all the lahima vampires have that i think it has too do with a corset but i dunno.

on with the bust.
the face looks a little bit a-symetrical and way out of porportion. if i may give my opinion chop of the head right above the neck and re-sculpt the head so it is in porportion with the rest. which i love. and i know this is your first attampted but why not try too make braids in her hair? like they did in the Old days really fancy that works with the fluff.

but keep it up lahima was and is my favorite vampire bloodline (i know they kicked them out but i like too think that they just said : "we are too cool for your army book later"

the banner is click able. it takes you to a magical country. if you don't believe me click and see for your self

If you are going for the out of proportion head to body scale that they use in GW then I think it's pretty good. At first thought the features were proportioned oddly, but if you make her asian I've seen some asian women look similar to the sculpt. Kinda has this old crone look to her.

Thanks guys for the comment and helpful hints.

I have done a little bit of research and was able to find some more references...hopefully in the next shot I'll be able to come close.

I think I'll start over and make her a little bigger so it would be easier to work with and grasp sculpting a bit more.

Hopefully I'll have something ready by next week.

Thanks again
