Do Black Templar Terminators have to pay the point cost for either thunder hammer and SS or the twin lightning claws?

Sword Bretheren Assault Terminators cost the listed points value each and are armed with the weapons listed. If no additional points cost is listed for the weapons then no additional points must be spent for the weapons. I believe it may be very similar to the listing for Bolt Gun v. Bolt Pistol and CC weapon for the Crusader Squad.

Zeshen is correct. You pay for the terminator, then decide what to equip them with. IIRC, the only "buyable" upgrades for assault terminators are the skills Furious Charge or Tank Hunters.

On a side note, if you're taking any LCs at all then Furious Charge is definitely worth it!

Yowza... So it's buy a thunder hammer and storm shield and get a Terminator to carry it free.
So, this is pretty much the best space marine army for termies it seems.

Not necessarily. In fact BT TH/SS termies are amongst the worst of the bunch, as they only get a 4+ inv in CC. With BT, youre much better to go for the LC spam.
Vanilla + SW run TH/SS termies the best I reckon.

Yes, but for the point cost, the Termies with TH/SS are pretty stinkin cool
(Edited as I re-read my first post and it made 0 sense.)

Yet the Cost for a 'nilla Termie with TH+SS is exactly the Same, and the 'nilla Storm Shield is vastly superior.
The SW termie costs more for the added Counter-attack, Acute senses, and versatility of adding him to one of several other squads(and hiding him in those squads, he is not an IC, but part of the unit).
Actually I wouldn't even(and don't) give a Wolfguard termie armor or a storm Shield; leave him in PA and add a Storm bolter to the thunderhammer, then stigk him in with some grey hunters(Costs 46 points for all kinds of goodies to the squad).

An excellent idea!
I'm a space wolves player and was just kinda stunned at the point difference, but you are correct, the versatility really does make the points occasionally worth it.
Thanks for the clear explanations....

Space Wolf termies have ALWAYS costed more, for a number of reasons.
One is that they are just simply more awesome. Second is the ability to mix and match weapons, which is subsumed into their basic points cost. Thirdly is Counter Attack and Acute Senses. Fourthly, they can take a Drop Pod.

Gwar! pretty much hit it on the head.
Different termies are better at different things. Like I said, if you did opt to use the BT's, id strongly advise against using TH/SS's with them, as the just don't match up to the sheer survivability of other Termie equivalents.
