Sent him money via paypal 2 weeks ago for 6 missile launcher marines for $25...it cleared 6 days ago and I have not received any word from him...is anyone able to get ahold of this guy? or should I just go through paypal about getting my money back

He appears to have been inactive for the last few days now.

Is he in the US? Any time that you are going from US to Can for whatever reason, at least recently, you have to give it some time to actually get there. I bought some stuff off of a guy about three weeks ago and I *still* haven't gotten it.. it's coming from Can to the US.. Give it a little time

This is a bit early to be posting a transaction report. Since you paid via paypal, it will be easy for you to get your money back as long as you file a complaint before the 45-day limit, if it comes to that.

But since the money only cleared 6 days ago, I would give him another week before going any further with this TR. It looks like he made a number of posts 7 days ago, but only 2 since (and that was 4 days ago). So give it a little more time...

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I sent him a unit of plague monks for his bloodletters + juggernaught. He keeps saying that he will email me proof of mailing but he hasn't. He also said that he sent his package last Wednesday but I haven't heard anything from him. At the very least his behavior is troubling. I was going to wait a week to see if I get his part of the trade before posting but this is making me worry. He also gave me a gmail account for his contact info that only gets me a mailer demon. Hopefully he'll read this and at least get in contact with the two of us.

Sorry about that, guess we'll have to wait a little longer to see what he says...my paypal payment was sent oct 6, but it only went through on the 15th of oct...but I haven't heard from him in all that time...that's 13 days now and it doesn't take that long for a package coming from ontario to new brunswick that much time....so I took a leap of faith on that one...considering I did no trading on here....to be nice and get the ball rolling as a reputable trader on the forums

I heard from him on the 12th regarding a trade we are negotiating, but not since then (nor was I expecting to...we are sending our stuff out "simultaneously"). I would give him a bit more time before becoming worried.

You're probably right, just the lack of communication after I sent the money worries me a bit...specially when I've seen him on and not responding to the message I've sent him...I'll give it another week and then I'll try to make a report through paypal and get my money back..

I'm in a similar situation with him. I did a trade of some CSM stuff for some Space Wolves, and he supposedly shipped his stuff on 8/26/2010. After about a month, when I hadn't received anything (I'm in the US), I contacted him and he agreed to send back my stuff that he had received. That was on 9/21/2010. I haven't seen any of the stuff that he claims to have shipped.

That's disturbing, and that's 4 people now with outstanding trades with this user.

Have any of you been able to contact him by other means (especially by phone?). If it's a younger user, politely getting a hold of their parents and letting them know what the person is up to can do wonders...

Appearantly we've been given different mailing addresses and email addresses. I found a phone number for the address he gave me and I'll be making that call if I don't get my stuff by next Wednesday. That will be 10 business days after he said he mailed his package.

If anyone knows lukesdabest please contact him and ask him to contact us in regards to all the confusion.

He said he'd ship to me tomorrow as well. The only thing is that he already told me that he shipped to me last Wednesday and that he had proof of shipping that he was going to email to me last week. Needless to say I've never received that email.

I don't really know...this whole trading scene on here has kinda put me off sadly, when people say they are going to mail something.....they should be mailing it...no saying they are going to and never do....I'm having the same problem with another person now as well...ahh well...atleast I tried I guess

He just sent me an message saying that he doesn't have my address any more and that if I sent it to him he would have my package out by tonight. I sent him the info and asked for proof of shipping no later than Monday. This is the time to find out for sure whether he's actually doing what he says or just blowing smoke.

yea he mentioned about sending stuff out tomorrow again as well.....and tomorrow is sunday...or maybe these forums are head in time and it's already sunday....so monday? I dunno anymore I'll give it till the comming friday to see I guess

He lives in Ontario so he's Eastern or Central time zone. He sent his message to me around 1:00 ET so he still had time to make it to the Post Office if you responded quickly (I did before my last post on this thread). But until I see proof of mailing I wouldn't believe anything he says.

I dunno, luckily for me I sent him my mailing address last night....so maybe he got it sent out...but usually the post office isn't open on weekends...not here anyways...but maybe just not for delivery...I don't know any more lol

Well lukesdabest said that he would send my package out Saturday and now it's Tuesday morning and guess what? I haven't heard a word from him. I keep asking him to email me proof of mailing but appearantly he can't/won't do so. If I don't have my stuff by tomorrow (which would be 10 business days after he said he mailed me originally) or the proof of mailing then I'll be making phone calls to his home and failing that getting any results to the appropriate Canadian authorities.

sadly I'll probably end up doing the same, wish I didn't have to though

Can you all keep me up to date on how this goes? I have a trade pending with him, but haven't sent out the models yet. I would like to go through with it (although don't so much need more Nurglings at this point), but not if I'm not going to receive anything in return.

If would definitely be a good idea to wait and see if lukesdabest follows through in his other trades first. It's troubling that he hasn't responded to this TR, although his last post was on the 14th so he could be just not checking here.

Regardless, I would wait and see what happens when Leo_the_Rat or WillyBRags talk to him / his family on the phone, and what the end results of their trades are, before going through with any trade with this user.

He did PM me on the 22nd and replied to my answer to that PM on the 23rd, so he has been on these forums since the 14th even if he hasn't posted.

He was very responsive to my trade offer and all the details. However, he doesn't seem so fastidious when it comes to follow through. I'd just find someone else to trade with if I were you. Needless to say even if I get the figures I traded for or my original figures back I will not be considering this a successful trade. It seems a shame, but for a person to have ruined his reputation for some pieces of pewter just doesn't seem worth it to me. And to top it off he may end up having to answer to authorities for his actions. All for some plastic soldiers.

yea he was for me too originally...and then nothing...so I filed my problem with paypal about getting my money back, lets see what happens

I called the home where, appearantly, lukesdabest rents a room and left a message stating that if he does not contact me by 19:00 his time tomorrow I will be contacting his local police department. I was told by the owner of the house that he would speak with lukesdabest and inform him of my message.
So until tomorrow I have nothing more to add to this report.

I just talked to his mother and she assured me that she would send my package no later than Friday. Hopefully that will resolve the matter as far as I am concerned.
