Soul Grinders or Princes? I plan on taking a LoC & a Blood Thirster in my list and I'm wondering what compliments them more? Princes end up being much more expensive the way I figure'd I'd run them (220 Points for Tzeench, Flight, 3+ armor, and Bolt of Change). Soul Grinders with the mini-Railgun shot come in at 160 each, so they're certainly cheaper, but hit less often and depending on the opponent can be taken out fairly easily.
Recommendations?

Under 1500 I'll go with as many soul grinders as you can fit in. Above that get princes since there would be too much anti tank

What Kenshin said. Less AT on the board = more Soul Grinders. More AT = more princes.

Soul Grinders are fun, but they're hit-or-miss, seeing as you've got the weather a turn of your enemy's dedicated anti-tank to get into cc. That said, I recommend them. They're scarier than all get out.

I like to run two Grinders and one Prince. You can use the Prince as a vanguard for the Grinders. It's a solid combination.

I read a battle report the other day about a 2 guys playing SM against chaos and tau. The marine players stomped the tau player first turn and then hte daemon player brought in one soul grinder and a few little guys the soul grinder stomped the marines into the dirt with the ST8 Ap3 pie plate. So try to imagine dropping 3 in at once and throwing pie plate around like an angry clown while hosing the enemy with the harvesters. Its a good idea in my opinion, hell my girlfriend has two soul grinders coming in the mail next week.

Spend the extra 25 to give the grinder both phlegm and tongue...or extra 50 to give it to both...this makes grinder effective against both hard tanks/single models and against multiple model units with the strength 8 large blast template.
dont take a prince unless you have a 1850+ game...they are good...but very pricey...grinders are just as good for cheap...plus if they are not in close combat you can fire both the phlegm and the tongue

I've seen Princes work very well without wings - giving them a bolt, and tzneetch makes them a versatile troop that can fit a themed list - that BS5 for an AP1 bolt is killer.
Soul Grinders are like Dreadnoughts - they're extremely polarizing, and some swear by them, while others hate them. I'd proxy 2 Grinders for a few games and see how you like them.

I would disagree slightly here. If you are already fielding 2 MC, field 2 more Princes with them so you can saturate the board with T5 or T6 fatties. Melee prince is usually Nurgle with Iron Hide, Wings, Touch. Shooting is the cheap Tzeetch with Bolt and Gaze/Wind I tried out Bolt and wind and really liked the way it played.
Edit: no 3+ armor for a tzeetch and no wings that will make them really cheap.
