So I started playing Minecraft a little while ago, and I love it. what are your thoughts on the game? Do you play, and if so on what servers? Discuss

I play minecraft, singleplayer mostly as most of the servers are either US or EU which lag me horribly. I'm usually quite successful, building huge homes with lava moats. However, I've never come across any diamond ore anytime....strange.

I was just thinking about making a Minecraft thread a week ago. I bought the game about a month ago now, I mostly play Multiplayer on a private server that my buddy runs. I think I really do prefer Multiplayer over Singleplayer, just because it's nice being able to explore other people's constructions. And with a private server, it's really helpful to have only four people who have the info, so there's no chance of griefing.
It's really a very creative game. So far, in my Multiplayer server, I have built a castle (three floors, one of which is a great hall sort of thing), a log cabin in our aptly named Sky Town, a ziggurat with water flowing down the sides, a glass tunnel that reaches underwater from our first continent to the second (this took me a solid week of work to finish), a Spleef arena, an arboretum for tree supply, and started on a pirate galleon.
Incidentally, you really can get a lot done when you have mobs turned off and an Op that can set the time to day whenever it gets dark.

Monsters on MP servers will hopefully work properly with the next update, fingers crossed.

I just bought the alpha a couple days ago, and have totally dropped everything for more time to mine, craft, and build. Haven't tried multiplayer yet, because I'm worried about griefing, so if anyone wouldn't mind sendin me the info I promise I won't be a d-bag
So far, I've got my primary mine that reminds me of Moria just because it's so huge, and my little lookout tower thing. Three stories, large windows, and a balcony. I use this just to store things and look out across the hills and vallies for monsters to kill and livestock to slaughter. Can't wait for the Halloween patch!

I play this game. I am usually in multiplayer either on my forum's or the FPPW forum's.

I play it but I only play single player atm.
The server stuff is cool though I pop in to see the structures people make.

I play it in singleplayer and in a private server with a handful of friends, but haven't played for a while, I lose interest and imagination fairly quickly... same with gmod, I love that game but every time I start I sit infront of the computer staring blanky at the screen trying to think of something original to build.

Most of MP has been fixed, except for the tracks, so when going on-line, resist the urge to build tracks and a train, they don't work on-line and eat memory like no tomorrow. Other than that, survival mode is finally on its way!

Other than that, survival mode is finally on its way! I don't know if you play MP strenuously, but it still has all kinds of problems that require fixing. Players and mobs are invincible (though mobs can die from environmental damage) Neutral mobs often get stuck in the ground, and sheep and cows don't spawn Fish can't be picked up Water and lava can't be spread using normal means (a bucket) - they can only be placed using an Op with /give Furnace windows don't have the arrow animation showing an item's progress Saplings will occasionally grow into trees that are invisible or have no leaves Leaves no longer disappear after the tree is gone Doors will occasionally split in half or open and close quickly while trying to destroy them Pressure plates don't trigger doors Buttons don't trigger doors, and can jump from the wall they are placed on Anything with a durability status can be dropped and picked up to revert damage back to zero Paintings can't be seen by other players, and can't be picked up after being destroyed Destroying a chest with objects inside will spill out its contents and make phantom duplicates Moving items around can cause them to disappear or duplicate (as you stated) Minecarts are nonfunctional, and cause severe lag when used, leading to server crash Arrows are invisible to all but the player who shot them Shoveling snow doesn't yield snowballs Torches can be infinitely duplicated by placing them on leaves (a torch appears, but doesn't leave your inventory) Considering that all of that works in single player, I'd hardly say that "most of MP is fixed."

Night soon fellow miners!
I only really got this recently and it is fun building things, but it gets a little lonely, especially since the new update has upped the number of NPCs that can be in an area. It's not nice to leave your lovely home only to have to fight off at least 3 creepers.
If anyone knows any good MP servers I would be most grateful.
