Okay Yesterday my Friend bought round his Dark Elves and obviously having high elves ment a battle was all but enivitable. the terrian was pretty standard with a hill on either side. we decided to have a bridge in the middle with an impassible river flowing throught the center of the field(flying monsters can fly across thought) rules: If a player controls the bridge(no enemy units on it) for more than 3 turns then they win other than that due to the bitter rivalry it was enialation, no VP's just fighting and phschology test

Anyway:

High elves won the role and decided on the north side

Pretty standard deployment, I put my ten dragon princes around left/center with my sea guard and bolt throwers on the hill, the white lions held the center and the dragon and the eagle on the far flank ready to charge across the river and harass the enemy.

Dark Elves:

Micheal put his crossbowmen w/supreme soceress on the hill with two RBT's his other RBT was angled at the brigde with LOS between his two units of Warriors

Hmm interesting Dark Elf list in the hero section his BSB is literally naked. It would be hard to NOT kill her. And you took a teclis anyway excited for the report!

And here I was wondering if TR would take Teclis

But even with Teclis in there I'm not sure I can make a call on which list will win this. HE might have the edge with T- and choppier troops, but the DE look to be built pretty decently with some size to the units that need it ... Note though that the reason you take the hag BSB not with a cauldron is to give executioners ASF, because they can't take the banner normally. Perhaps those are black guard? Or the banners are in fact different?

To make it harder to predict- the scenario is odd-ball too. Impassible river looks like it will keep lots of combat units out of the fight proper.

A quick check reveals why: a death hag can't take magic items that aren't also gifts of khaine, though she can take a magic standard if BSB

And given she can't take any forms of armour she's restricted to having only a 5+ ward save at 30pts which is pretty expensive, possibly worth it though.

Also interested to see how this plays out. Rooting for the DE here =D

hmm i forgot if magic standard there goes your magic equipment... that stinks! im rooting for DE as well.

Anyway so the moment you've been waiting for has finally come the battle report.

The High Elves one first turn

High Elves Turn one:

The Spearmen move towards the bridge with the white lions(15) spearheading it. The Dragon mage flies towards the bank and decides to stop before the river. the great eagle lands the other side of the bank. the seaguard open fire on the warriors(40) scoring 12 hits and seven. 4 armour saves are passesd but three die. the RBT1 fire on the same unit of warriors with a single dart, piercing three ranks and scoring 100% kill rate. RBT Fires volley at the second unit of warriors but fails to wound. Magic: Teclis uses high magic and succsefully casts flames of the phoenix on the warriors(36. just in range) the template covers around 37. 20 hits and rolled and 13 wounds, 6 are saved but seven still die. teclis then roles fury of khaine but is dispealed, finally he rolles drain magic but is again dispealed.
The Dragon mage(micheal forgot about him and had no dice left) cast fireball on one of the crossbowunits(19)with supreeme sorcerus socring 3 hits and 1 wound which kills.

Thus ends HE Turn one
the reason I riped his warrior unit was because it was closest to the bridge and my plan was to get as many of my units on there as possible whilst holding back his warriors with bowfire and magic.

Not to interrupt you mid-report, but I don't think this attack uses a template, and anything affected by the ability is automatically hit, there's no roll to hit... unless I'm mistaken.
And the range is 24".
Just curious if you meant a different ability maybe

Was expecting a lot more damage to be done in that first magic phase. Any particular reason you went with HE magic with Teclis and not something like Life?

But all in all it seemed like a pretty good first turn.

Just realised the same thing... Even if a template was being used there are no partials, if the template touches you you've been hit so that would've been 37 hits not 20.

oh well we played templates for the flames of the ohoenix the hole game. and the reason i didnt go with life is because i was test running high magic

Given the fact the Teclis player is the one posting this, I'm going out on a small limb that High Elves won.

Surprise fact - Some people have busy lives! Some people can't always find the time to sit down and write up a full report. Though it would be nice if he would get a little move on...

Yeh I agree with that, I mean if it was say a day or two between say the start of the game and the end it wouldn't be a huge issue. This is getting a little ridiculous though =/

It's almost going 5 days and we've got two lists and half a first turn so on that note... Plllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeee can you finish this up soon =) Want to find out what happens.

Yeah, that didn't go as planned, the TO had to take off early, so I ended up running the dang thing. Didn't get two seconds to think of taking pictures...I took one of my first game, and that was it.
