I haven't played warmachine in about 6 weeks, and if it doesn't snow, I'm going to a tournament tomorrow.

Generally I shoot the snot out of all the low armor stuff, and then my zealots frag the really hard hitting stuff, then my jacks mop up in hth. I'm most vulnerable to nasty caster tricks, but I'm hoping the Avatar and his "stay 8" from me" trick will put a kink in that.

Well, we're expecting 12" of snow here, so I bagged on the tournament.

So Russ, if you were going to try to beat this list, how would you tool your cygnar and what would you do?

Haley and the gunline TB and smoke. The lancer is for last ditch chainlightning ONLY.

GMCA continuously thunderbolts the avatar once it's in range and hides behind smoke or cover. Stormies kill your choirmaster then zealotpriest then rupert and disrupt your node from out of LOS. Lightning is not an attack so choir/def is ineffective. Skillcheck and you take a pow 10 + disruption. Eiryss does the same on unit leaders with phantom seeker (choir first, then zealots). If that's done and she hasn't been pasted by you A2A your own models to hit her then she can try to disrupt sevvie.

Basically, you'll have to crawl at half rate through things you can't see zapping yoiu. It's about the most unfun

Only way to beat this list with menoth is to a) play steamroller and knock the Cygnaran for VPs because of move-out, b) have a stupid opponent or c) play the sac enough of your own stuff that you get in range to keep TB from happening with lamentation (AMP doesn't do it because it isn't upkeep) and then drop and pop the broad.

Or better still, just play the old witch and teleport your stealthy slaughtered jack into her trenchers while ignoring her smokeclouds with a behemoth and 2 destroyers.

ah holy crap I had an extra 250 to play with there...

Add in 10 more LGs and a hunter with junior on it.
