So I got fed up with having a bunch of my old IG tanks sitting around, gathering dust. I painted them years ago and have since re-started my gaurd army. The old tanks were'nt up to snuff and goy set aside.
Recently, I decided to "resurrect" some of them and try to get some use out of them. It was a challenge , as I said, with them being in such poor shape.
One of them was a Salamander scout that I had converted from a Chimera. That is my current WIP, now taking form of a Medusa.
I had a Primer mishap last night with it, but caring little, I think I am going to carry on with it.
Critiques, comments, questions and all that are welcome....

Do you plan on adding some sort of loading mechanism? I can't see that crewman moving around too many shells that are as big as he is.

As a matter of fact, I tackled that problem last night. I was looking at my limited number of serivitors, trying to decide if I should commit one or two of them to this vehicle or not. I kind of wanted to leave them as a part of my Techpreist's entourage, so instead I came up with an idea.
I built a small energy pack on the back of the loader, ran guitar strings from the back to both of his wrists and added some trimmed sprue scrap to either side of the hands. This will be a type of / magnetized gravity glove that allows the user to manipulate heavy metal objects, such as large artillary rounds.
I've already built it, but have'nt painted it. None the less, I'll be posting more pictures of it all today, after work.
Cheers.

Last night I worked on the chassis a bit, as well as a loader, as I mentioned last post.
The add on armor is just gridded plasticard from a hobby store that deals in model railroads.
I find it effective for salvaging the beat up junk-looking tanks and easier than stripping my models.
I know its a bit of a cop-out, but hey, I'm not a competition painter, I just want an IG army thats painted and ready for play.
I've included a couple of shots of a Scout Sentinal I recently saved from the trash can of failure, as well as a conversion comparison of my Storm troopers. The guy on the left was a kit bash originating from SM scout kits and the one on the right is an original. The converted one ended up being taller than the original, but considering I only needed three of them, I found it acceptable.
I will be doing more work on the Medusa and crew tonight, attempting to have it ready for play by Sunday.
If anyone has any suggestions (things to add to it ), critisims or comments, (good or bad) of any kind, I would love to hear them.
Thanks in advance.

Moore, Ok.

You know, at first i thought the gun was too big, but after you finished i really like it!
and the extra armor rocks as well!

Thanks man. Yeah I looked at the diagram in the codex and I think I got it pretty close. Still , I 'd never tackle a second one.

Great work! I can see how much you have improved from the first tanks that you did. My only criticism is that the extra armour on the medusa looks a little flat as there is nothing to break it up. Love the storm trooper conversion!

Fair point, now that you mention it. I'm hoping it'll pop a bit more when its all done with.
Thanks for your honesty.

So I just finished it tonight.
I've included a Swing rack for the ammo, to make it easier on the loader. I may still add another loader to it, but I ranout of Devlin Mud so I'll need to order more.
The last thing I did was get a few shots of it with the rest of my tanks. Thats when I realized the wash was still a bit wet. Oh well.

Once I get some more supplies, I plan on Resurrecting the last two Exterminators I have and then I think I am done. I'll either focus on doing up some Dark Eldar, or will buy a Baneblade(or 2), just for fun.
I sais this would be Pic heavy, so I'll add these to the pile.

Great job! Really nicely detailed. If I may suggest though, some weathering powders to dull the silvers on the gun itself, I find them a touch to brilliant compared to the grittiness of the rest of the paint job.

Thanks for the remarks guys.
MajorTom; I am strongly considering your suggestion. I have not yet used the powders but definately want to learn. Next trip or order to GW, I'll pick some up. But first I will have to surf Dakkadakka for a good tutorial on how to use them effectively. Any suggestions or recommendations?
