What the hell do Eldar do during their off-time? They can't always be betraying and fighting their whole lives 24/7...

Regular Eldar have jobs.

some grow food, others make things, write poetry...

with long lives Eldar specialize in doing some thing they like and may after a pieriod of time do something else.

i would imagine Eldar have music, poetry, games and stuff like that.

one thing they don't do much is make more eldar(well, regular Eldar anyway. DE make more all the time )

They have ritualized sex which takes months to finish.

/tg/ have also somehow thought of Eldrad last "gift" to the eldar is the overl complex sex ritual which involves a dark room , random dancing and things......
this is the real reason why Eldars are a dying race

Guardians have real jobs. When they're not serving as Guardians, they're doing regular civilian work.

Farseers are trapped on the path, and serve as the craftworld's seers full time. Warlocks are seers when they're not fighting.

Autarchs are probably engaged in planning the long-term military manuevers for the craftworld, under the guidance of the farseers.

Exarchs are trapped on their path, and spend all their time locked in their shrines - much of it training the members of their shrines.

Aspect Warriors spend their time off the battlefield training and working to improve their combat skills.

Rangers and Pathfinders are drifters and spend their time wandering the galaxy experiencing what it has to offer.

...aaaaaand everyone else has ritualised sex!

I wonder how pissed off you'd be, spending months on the ritual only for your partner to tell you they're infertile...

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Yep. The craftworlds were supposedly trading vessels that attracted counter-culture types who were disillusioned mainstream Eldar society. Goes a long way towards explaining why they are in such dire straits now.

That is not actuly true the Eldar guardian position is used as a fall back position in times of war when more people are needed or there simply isnt enough gaurdians
