Anything with more than one monolith usually garners dirty looks.

Hell, even if I use just 1 monolith I get the evil eye.

Vulkan with 2 SM scout squads, 1 set of assault terminators in a LR and...

An entire contingent of allied SoB. 2 sets of 2x melta Celestias, 2 sets of 3x Flamer SoB, and a 5x Flamer squad of Dominions Throw in a pair of Vindicators for Heavy Support and you have people screaming cheese.

I made this CSM list for a 1000pts game against a buddy just to screw with him. 1 bare basic chaos lord 2 barebones CSM squads and then 3 defilers.

3 Trygons in a 1000 point list against Necron foot sloggers. Nuff said.

at ~1800 points, it is possible to take 5 landraiders. 3 heavy support, 1 termie squad w/ LR, 1 termie assault squad w/ LR, 1 barebones captain, 2 bare scout squads.

I just know that when your playing CSM foot slogging, and your opponent is a guard player and your player a 1000 point game, and you look up only to see 3 LR executioners with plasma canon sponsons looking at you

Vulkan doesn't work like that. They aren't your army. They are an allied army that you have brought to battle with you. Vulkan only works in your army of Space Marines.

BUT if I may say something that may sound close. Hammerheads tend to be the more valuable pieces when against Nids.

Thats illegal. Only one Land Raider can be taken as a dedicated transport. PG 136 C:SM "One terminator squad in the army may select a land raider of any type as a dedicated transport". Even so, you can still get 4 on the table which would be pretty cheesy

Well, Templars could pump out some LRs at 1750.

Let's see, 350 points for 2x5 Initiate squads, each with a fist and melta, and the Champion with AAC.

2x Dedicated Transport LRCs is 530, bringing us to 830. 3 Heavy Support LRs are 750, bringing us to 1320. Another 5 marines (PF + melta) with a LRC is 370 points, bringing us to 1730. Add smoke launchers everywhere and you're at 1748 points.
That's 6 Land Raiders, three of which are scoring. While Land Raiders aren't that scary for say, Imperial Guard or to some extent Tau, it'd certainly negate much of the enemy firepower.

30 Nob Bikers alone cost 1350 points alone. If you have a Warboss you can take 10 more as troops (and make the Warboss a biker too for good measure). If you do all that it adds up to 1900 points, with only one troops choice made. You will be fast and you will be tough, but by good will it be expensive

Yes, then look at the assault termie squad dedicated transport (on p. 136) "One Terminator Assault squad in the army may select a LR..."
I guess this could be a YMDC, but in the spirit of cheesiness, I interpret it to be that one regular termie squad can take one, and one assault termie squad can take one.

ok..... 30 Nob Bikersz (all with power klaws, heavy armor, and cybork bodies) as elites, 2 warbosses with PK on bike, and 20 nob bikers (above wargear) as troops.

You can only have 5 DC Dreads since they are troop choices.
You get access to 1 DC dread per 5 Death Company you field
If you field 25 Death Company in 1 troop choice you only have 5 troop choices left per FoC so you can only take 5 DC Dreads.

When i'm playing with SW, I try to bring 3 lords mount on ThunderCav and 4 ThunderCav unit all kitted out and running together.

Any SW Army with 3 Units of Long Fangs, and above 60 Models pre 1500 Points to nearing 100 around 2000.

Its funny when people do that isnt it? We will have discussions while playing games, if I just mention a monolith there are people that start the "Thats BS CRY CRY CRY" thing. Sorry guys, its in the codex and its legal, why are you complaining about it? I mean its the only REAL bad ass thing you guys have left

I counter with 9 Wraiths and a Destroyer Lord w/Warsycthe, Resurrection Orb and Phase Shifter at 579.
