Wishing I was back at the South Atlantic, closer to ice than the sun

Does anybody insure their armies, other than on the standard household insurance?

If so, what baseline do you use as the cost.

For example I have a 28man unit Pirazzos Lost legion, painted to a reasonable standard. And of course they're out of production. What value would you put on them?

Cheers

Andrew

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Well mine count as "valuables" under my renters-fire insurance. Contents insurance. I am good up to $30,000 which covers miniatures, dishes, I believe my computers are also inclusive.

I mean I only have about $5k worth of actual stuff.

So it is the same as jewelery basically.

Now what value can you put on them I would suggest speaking with the insurance office.

No they're not.... http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat500025a&prodId=prod1140048

Quite a few DoW Regiments available under the Collectors bit.

P.S. Random I know, but seeing as how Allies are kind of back, perhaps we'll see DoW back too.

I once moved and valued the stuff around £2k (this was 7 years ago) and have added to it since, but what I noticed was that anything about £1,500 and above had to be itemised individually.

Now a single figure ain't gonna be that much, but when it's combined it starts to rack up.

Just wondered what other peoples experiences were.

Cheers

The buggers at Gestapo HQ told me they were no longer produced. Guess they found some old ones under a box then.

And I do hope they bring DoW back. Santa if you're listening. Please....

Cheers

Somewhere in south-central England.

No.

Barring a serious earthquake or a fire I am unlikely to lose any of my armies.

Truth to tell, there are several of them I haven't played with for years, for example, my ACW Union army's last outing was in about 1992.

If it got melted, stolen or squashed under a rock, I would just start again.

It's worthless to ensure your army, check the fine print. Insurance won't cover any damage from a war!

None of my miniatures are insured either, don't really need it I guess.

I just have renters insurance. If I end up being stationed in a shadier area where I can't trust my army in the store for a few minutes without me, then I may consider getting some other form of insurance.
