I hope they do not mess up the miniatures like they did with Mercs, I also hope the new owner manages to right the ship despite everything megacon did, Myth had and still has a lot of potential.

In contrast mercs had potential but they burned it so thoroughly to the ground it is not salvageable by anyone.

I'd imagine the miniatures delay is also to coordinate with the new publisher and how they will move forward.

The game may not need a reboot,.... but for sure a new base set to bring in new players; and a clear view of how progression and retail strategy will work.

reprinting the base game as well as original KS1 minis was required by MCG anyway to fulfill people who did the Over The Top pledge,... added KS1 stuff,... or pledged for monster sets in the Dark Frontier campaign. It only makes sense to coop that mini production with the new publisher.

I guess I will find out at GenCon what the plan is. What little information out there says that there are three main projects that the new publisher will produce first (new base set, adventurer's tool-kit, and potentially the Master level expansion have been mentioned). A two year release schedule was also discussed,.......

I would think that if they did the new base set right and had the correct promotion/support,.... they could then release boxed expansions of the module content that is already designed during that time; and would have built up a good audience for a Master expansion,....... (I'm hoping the new publisher stays away from KS and just polishes the game and makes it viable on the shelf)

I'm a little annoyed that we have to pay shipping by July 31, no minis until 2019, and the big announcement from the new owners of the brand will be made at Gencon...August 2nd, or thereabouts.

I mean, yeah, I want my stuff, so I'll pay the shipping, but this is yet another 'bad look' from the Mercs crew.

The new publisher should be revealed as GenCon kicks off; not sure how much news we will get,.... but things are moving forward.

Any word on who the new buyer is?

That was supposed to come out at Gencon?

And...when will the remaining miniatures ship?

- Speculation by many led to someone asking at the Ulisses North America booth; to which they replied that they could not talk about it yet, but offered some sort of confirmation. So while there has been no official confirmation or press release; it seems to be them.

- as far as we know; one last wave of all minis for next summer (2019). At that point; people who waited to pay shipping should get everything in one shipment.

They announced that Ulisses North America is the buyer; and that they (UNA) should be making a press release very soon. At that point; news about the future plans for the game will start to be released.

I got mine delivered today, unannounced, hope Ulisses will do a good work salvaging this, it may have been vastly mishandled by megacon, but at its core it is really good.

The most recent update by Ian from Ulisses NA stated that they still had some legal hoops to jump through. Hopefully things are wrapping up. This game has some much yet to reveal. There was some info from one of the Ulisses folks that they will be doing the fulfillment of the "plastic" parts of the SG for the campaign after the deal is completely finalized and that they hope to do it faster than the original proposal of MCG!

We are looking at sending out the plastic after the sale is complete, I don't think it will be a full year like MegaCon Games had planned to send them out. But I don't have a time frame or date yet from the manager who will be in charge of the project so I won't give you an estimate today. I would hate to say it will be 3 months then it turns out to be 5 or 6 months.

We are intending to reopen the PM after the sale is complete and all Myth product is transferred and we audit the product. This will give the backers who have not paid for shipping one last chance to pay.

Sorry; it was not an "official update",... it was an e-mail response, so take it for what it's worth.

UNA had said in their first update that they had some legal things to tie up before they could proceed.

Earlier this week James (from Ulisses North America) did post on the KS page (as an official collaborator on the project):

we just finalized the sale late last week we will be putting out an update very shortly.

James for Ulisses North America

we all still wait; I hope they get out information this week,......

No worries - I was just curious!

As a backer, I hadn't seen any 'official; updates via Kickstarter, so I was just wondering.

I am, of course, grateful for any info whatsoever - so thank you!

Returning from the dead once again:

Ulisses North America has confirmed again that they have taken over the Myth IP. They seem to be wanting to funnel their communication through Facebook for their games now,... and have just posted this news on their page:

(TLDR: they will produce the missing miniatures from the Journeyman campaign for backers; but will also be launching new Myth products via KS)

Hello friends,

Myth is in our hands, and its next chapter starts now!

As you might have heard, Ulisses Spiele acquired the Myth IP and board game from MegaCon Games last year. Unfortunately, since we did that, it has been too quiet around Myth and that silence understandably annoyed some of you. We are terribly sorry about that, not only because we never wanted to upset our customers, but also because that's not good for the awesome boardgame that is Myth.

But let's explain how it happened. In buying Myth, we did not only acquire a great game, but also a lot of problems caused previously. To give you one example, in the past Kickstarter, some orders were fulfilled incompletely or not at all. Obviously, this is unacceptable, and we want to make things better. Luckily, we inherited the rest of the existing product, and that's good news. As long as this stock lasts, we will keep all the promises MegaCon has made to you and deliver the parts you are missing. If we do not have these parts in individual cases, we will give you an equivalent voucher for our online store to buy other Ulisses products, but we will not be able to refund the items you are missing. MegaCon Games used all the money from the previous purchases to produce the products you already have and Ulisses is using funds beyond the Kickstarters to produce those miniatures still missing.

We will fulfill Journeyman.

This situation is even more dramatic for Journeyman. Every penny you paid for Journeyman landed at MegaCon. However, it wasn’t enough to produce everything for Journeyman at the time we took over the game, especially the miniatures. Purely legally speaking, Journeyman should be dead, but that's something we cannot and will not live with here at Ulisses. We decided to finish producing Journeyman. For us, this is a long-term decision and even though we already know that we must make a significant investment to do so, we will do just that.

Since we are starting production of the miniatures from the beginning with Journeyman, the release will unfortunately not go as fast as we all wish. Our goal is to finish Journeyman within the next 12 months. Still we will be launching another Kickstarter for Myth in the coming year. We pledge to honor the promises made, the game’s legacy, and you, the fans. At the same time, we want to develop more cool stuff to tie things up, keep Myth running and growing, and finally get it back into local game stores and distribution. This is why we will do a new campaign with new content, as we continue fulfilling the promises made by MegaCon Games.

This also means we will regularly post news and updates on one of our favorite games as the project proceeds.

We will publish weekly news on new characters, work in progress, and new designs here on our Facebook page. We hope that you are as excited and passionate about Myth as we are and will help us keep Myth alive.

We want to believe!

(fingers crossed)

Myth is...kinda dead for me now.

But a well run "Master" campaign might get me interested again!

I do feel like their KS campaign might be a re-boot of the overall game though, cleaning up the rules, etc.

It will be really hard to figure out what I don't have if they were supposed to have already shipped it to me and they didn't.

I...don't know what I don't know?

Do we have to reply back and say "Er, you definitely owe me all the miniatures!" ?

I just sent back a PM receipt I had from when I changed address after the Shores of Kanis and Blackwall Warrens had already shipped. I found that email from May 2017 and I was surprised how far back it actually was. The receipt shows these as shipped and rest as due. To best of my knowledge that's all I've got so far as I opted to wait for everything else until the minis are done.

So basically my email back said here's my receipt, to the best of my knowledge all I got is the expansions and everything else is due and I can wait for the all in modules until the mins are done next year. It's up to them to sort it out from there.

At this point I'd just settle for the All in Modules and hope I can sell them on and recover the $130 they cost. The main game is stored away on high shelf and isn't coming back down.

More thread necromancy here,.... but This thing still has blood left in it. Lots going on with the new owner (Uisses International). We had some sneak peaks at new testing for the game,... (what looks like new player boards):

Starting tomorrow is a small Kickstarter for just a new version of the book that so many loved in the Journeyman campaign. Not too much has be said yet; but it is clear that this will have less rules and more art and lore,....

It sounds like the most of the bestiary, hero spreads, etc would still be there; and perhaps some of the special alternate rules (solo mode, bar fight, slaughterfield) may remain; but that the core rule book will be removed in favor of more lore and more art.

The KS starts at 10am East tomorrow: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ulissesspiele/myth-world-of-myth And it is supposed to have a digital option as well!!!

Here are some teaser shots of new pages:

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I should also add; more importantly to all of this for us backers: is that at least some of the Journeyman miniatures that we are all due should be well into production. We were told that we'd see these this summer; so I really hope that they will use this book campaign as an opportunity to talk and show more about what we should expect to get this year.

Fingers crossed! I really love this game - not just the gameplay but also the theme and art - and the new owner is using the talent of the previous designer and artist - hopefully their execution of the business side of things will finally get us all those wonderful models and more and more content to enjoy.

I already bought this book...

And now, for some extra pages of content, if I want an actual book (again), it will cost me €63 + €15 shipping, for a total of €78?

For a game which...has been a bit of a letdown in many ways so far to date?

I can't do it.

Not sure what this means for the future of the game as a whole...

Yeah - I'm still waiting to see their direction,.... this is expensive,... and mostly directed at buyers who have been asking for a reprint of the book.

Ulisses still need to prove themselves as the new owners. And it does sound like they have many plans underway. Also let out today that they are building a separate team to develop a stand alone RPG in the Myth world in addition to the board game. That is their wheelhouse after all.

I think if they can deliver this book and the JM minis that thye keep talking about; that the game could come back. (thant's my hoope anyway - as I am a big fan of the unique mechanics and the art).
