Thanks bob. That’s really what I should be working on finishing next. Its really close, All I need to do is figure out the turn and finish up the legs.

Here are some pics of my planetary guard. Almost 3 squads









They are a real pain.

1. I have to cast every chest piece, as well as the end of every rifle.

2. Those old Guard torso are much wider than the new ones and the sides and eagle stick out too far so using the current arms takes a ton of modeling

3. Torso also doesn’t sit flat on the new legs so I have to green stuff the fittings

4. Also requirea making molds for the capes and then putting green stuff in those so I could get them to fit each character better

5. I’m not so sure about this one but what’s done is done. To fill the gaps and loop a little more Roman I add a second pauldron to the armor made out of a bic pen I cut up

And Here are my almost completed rough riders. Does anyone know if all of the squad is supposed to have a spear on them to represent the weapon? Even the 2 armed with multi meltas and the one with a chain sword? Seems pretty hard and doesn’t look so great. I’d also have to figure out the power packs for all 5

I’ve decided to play hooky tomorrow and get some work done on the bastion interior. This elevator is ugly and I’ve been neglecting the railing work that’s needed



I also ordered myself one of these to use as part of the main city gate house

I love how you just casually order entire models from FW and GW's older ranges, just to use one single part as a manhole cover or something.

Finished most of the panels in the bastion motor pool interior, added pillars, got the main door in, Some of the railing, added a second door and now I’m working on a new elevator configuration made from model railroad bridges

As for the board itself, agreed that it's looking great. I keep coming back to time and again to check on updates, and fantasize about being able to play on a board as detailed as this.

Who wants to loan me $3,000? I always wanted this set so I could make some awesome futuristic skyscrapers and walkways out of them but this price is insane. What do you think the actual price should be? Meaning, what kind of loss would I take if I listed this again in 3 months?

The plan would be to add 3 of these buildings to the existing table. There would be 1 large one replacing the destroyed forge world building and 2 of the small towers straddling some of the raise roads. 2 of them would be connected by one of the large tunnel sections

Is this too much?

I really just wanted to add in more residential units and give more of a futuristic look to the city

Incredibly jealous of your setup. Wish I could help with a project like this or build one myself someday! As for that price seems way too exhorbitant to me, unless you were able to copy them and cast them yourself for a tidy profit down the line making recasts?

Well, that’s why it’s not so bad. First off I talked to the owner and I wouldn’t pay that amount. Second, I would make molds and my own recast but for personal use only. I wouldn’t sell them

So my only loss would be material (still a lot, especially with the mistakes I make) and the delta between buy and sell, which never seems to work in my favor

Forgeworld terrain is at a premium as obviously they won't be making anymore anytime soon. So it is pretty valuable to collectors and people who really want the real deal. Especially since there are no recasts of them

Agreed. So hopefully the resale won’t be too bad. I could also sell my original forge world OOP ruins to help cover this new project, if it happens

Thinking this would be a cool start for some sort of airship for my planetary guard (without the balloons of course) but don’t know I would say is “counts as”. Any ideas?

Love the cut away view - reminds me of some books I enjoyed as a child about cities and such, only for 40K! The Rhino garage is my favorite.

Thanks kestral but I think it’s going to be a motor pool for Elysian Tauros jeeps instead. I can fit more and I think they make more sense for a city patrol and defense station.

As you can kind of see one of them will be getting repairs. I still need to add some chains to hold an engine or something and make casts of the rims so it doesn’t look so weird without tires



Also abandoning the idea for the airship. I’ve got enough on my plate without getting into steampunk concepts
