I skipped this one because I already have too many games and too few opponents. But I'm impressed with the campaign and really glad a real mass battle miniature game can still pull two million. Congrats to everyone who backed!

Right as this finished, I got an email saying my Mythic Battles pledge shipped.

I was both excited that it's going to be here soon, and saddened by the fact that I didn't really bother picking up any extra expansions like I had originally planned.

Two Maiden pledges is actually looking kind of tempting, especially if I sell off some of the big extras.

Leo had mentioned during a live the possibility of offering up the original beast pose as well during the pledge manager.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I want to use the miniatures also for other games. Like for a variation in the ASoIaF universe. By now I have made out a couple of minis, that would pretty well prox the characters.
Here is my current list:

North
Eddard - Jon Stewart
Robert - The Black Prince + Wolf
Jon - John Talbot + Wolf (without the dog)
Great Jon - La Hire

West
Jaimie - Jean de Dunois
Armory Loch - Robert Knolles (?)

Sea
Victarion - Gilles de Rais

Can somebody recommend some producer to prox the rest and also some further buildings?

If this is the wrong place to post this, please delete.

The Joan of Arc FB page just had a short livestream where they showed off models and Buildings, very impressive. Apparently they're shooting some battles with Beasts of War, I assume in anticipation of the pladge manager.

I believe the pledge manager launches next week so this weeks update should show us all the new items added to the pledge manager such as the playing mat and the pack to bring Ottoman up to full Army size (I believe just duplicates of excising units rather than anything new).

Let’s see if this image link works.

Pledge manager has now launched and includes this Ottoman addon to bump your forces to a full army (includes two new heroes, cannons and horse archers).

There is one unit of bowmen missing from the image.

New Update! Extended PM close!

With that in mind, we’ve decided to extend the deadline for completing the pledge manager by one month. The closing date will now be 23rd April 2018.

For me it'd be duplication of BattleLore 1E, which I already like, but don't play enough. And yet, it looks so cool!

Yeah, same here, although I did end up closer to "get all the things" than I'd originally intended.

I'd been on the fence about the Siege expansion for ages, but castles are awesome so I did that. Fortunately, I managed to avoid the old "for an extra $65, I could get the bundle with stuff that I don't really want" trap - that just results in me moving up the bundles until I'm all in.

Although, with an extra month, $20 for Ars Nova? Hey, why not?

Is it still possible to add extra bits on then? Oh dear, I assumed it was done and dusted

Apparently, you can go back into the pledgemanager, click on more things and give them more money. For another five weeks or so.

This might not end well...

I ended up grabbing the Ottomans just because I see potential converting one of them into a Byzantine

With Kingdom Death hitting the tabletop and devouring time, I passed on ToL: JoA instead of converting to a full pledge. Not that agonzing of a decision after all!

In that case I'm going to go finalize my pledge.

Devil, Dragon, Village, and Apocalypse bundle seems like the best bet for me. I want the fantasy stuff and the buildings.

Siege would be nice, but I don't think it'll get used for its intended purpose, and the price is hard to justify.

At this point I consider Kingdom Death a completely separate entity that gets money compared to the rest of my hobby funds. New plastics will be purchased sight unseen most of the time.

That was my preferred bundle, too.

I can't say that the Village grabbed my attention, but it's grown on me. I agonised over the Siege expansion for months, but I have no confidence that it would make it to retail in its current form, if at all. So, in it went...

I got the Heroic bundle, Apocalypse, the compendium and Plunder.

Maybe I will regret in the future not buying Ars Nova, if it never gets re-released. But it made no sense for me, to buy a English version of a dialogue heavy minigame. I wait till maybe Asmodee will publish the German version.

The devil and dragon I gave a pass, as I already have a dragon and some big demons. I hope to get the other contents of the boxes without the big model for a good price on the second market.

And this already is such a giant miniature pool, I´m not sure about getting some foam trays for my painted figures or just leave them in the boxes.

After reading on the BGG forums about people's impressions and concerns about the rules I decided not to back. I was a bit turned off by people saying that while it was fun, the most efficient tactics are nothing at all like actual military tactics. Best thing to do in the battle mode is to create a death star blob and steamroll the opposition by activating it multiple times. Kind of a missed opportunity considering most of the models and scenarios are historical. If I was in the market for a ton of 15mm figures to use in other games I would certainly back it though.

That's why my group went all in together - we figure the models would be useful even if we don't like the JoA rules.

I've been hoping for some solid "WHFB-like" rules for 15mm, or even just playing Kings of War. We'll have plenty to do it with, regardless

Thats my plan for it

Hopefully we will have some official KoW siege rules to use with the siege set too!

Hm. Kings of War would be a great use for these minis, if I played that.

How does the unit footprint translate to 15mm for Kings of War? I don't have the books handy, but isn't the typical KoW unit have a width of about 12cm and about a 6cm depth or so?

IIRC, KoW is about unit footprint rather than models, per se. Using 15mm vs 28mm minis, you'd base 4:1. That is, if you normally would put a single 28mm man on a base, you'd instead place 4x 15mm men on that same base.

We were actually planning to just scale down the base sizes to match the smaller models. I think someone might have already done this - the ruleset really lends itself to a smaller scale!

OK, sure, you could do that instead of multi-basing.

Oh we'd definitely multibase! Just with smaller ones so 20 models still looks right on a regiment base, etc

They have re-opened the pledge manager / late pledge for this as an unusually high number of people had not completed their pledges.

Seems they also doubled their KS total in the Pledge Manager.
