I actually like the new Asawira. I just wish they did some alternate arms to cover the Boarding Shotgun as well, since there's still no model.

Would have been nice for the Blackjack as well, with a set of arms to have it firing the AP HMG--like they did with the Highlander recently.

I remember reading that the designer intended for it to look like he was blocking, so it looks really weird having it do an offensive move. I read it from a 2nd hand source so could be bunk, who knows. Still looks weird. They should have just gone full on action movie and turned it into a slide.

The model concept is still good, but I can't buy it because of that weird pose. The design cues are there from the old Kurgat. Wish they kept the more angular armour on the arms. I will be using my old autocannon Kurgat until they come up with something better.

I was told the same thing. I appreciate that the sculptor is trying a new pose (since his Morats have been pretty dull, pose wise) but this pose just looks ridiculous. Its nice to have a Morat model that is kneeling or squatting, but having it blocking a non-existent close combat attack (with a ccw the profile doesn't even include) was a mistake I think. I would have loved to see the model shooting, laying a mine, interacting with an object, doing some engineering thing, crawling, dodging, leaping, loading a weapon or really anything else.

I also think its weird that his arms are unarmored. That really makes no sense for the Kurgat regiment, does it?

Overall I'm pretty disapointed.

Well with the introduction of Primaris Space Marines to 40k they are actually standing upright now.

Battle pooping stance had to go somewhere.

For the Kurgat to me, it's not the kneeling or the weapon. It's the turned head. It looks terrible. Oh well. I'll save some money this month!

It's worth noting that only this image is official as of the other 3 that are going around (there's a Tohaa and MO one as well as the Yu Jing image with the quote) haven't been shared on CB's social media. Only the above image is confirmed as real.

The other Yu Jing one was being shared by WarCors.

It got shared today/yesterday by CB itself. There's also the following text:

JSA becoming the Japanese Liberation Army.

I wonder if CB will splinter the JSA into two sectorials, one being the Yu Jing subordinate JSA and one being a Druze-like independent faction with their own unique toys.

You could literally keep them both as JSA:
Japanese State Army
Japanese Secessionist Army

I assume JSA will just cease to be a YJ thing. Otherwise its not really going to be something that upsets anyone. Models might likely remain available in Vanilla, (much of the JSA is relatively YJ loyal after all; they're just likely to lose their autonomy) but the JSA exclusive stuff is likely moving to unaligned exclusively.

Sir, I do believe you just cracked what the Massive Reveal (tm) will be in March. Faction split!

The Morats love fighting, though, and the CA loves fighting.

If anything, I'd expect the sneaky and Survive-at-all-costs Shasvasti to defect.

Of course he still does https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/442723.page or even better straight from Shae himself http://www.shaekonnitgames.com/infinity-split-box-deal/

I'll bet that there will be some demand for the Nexus Spec-Op. Less so for the Ariadnan.

Will this JSA count as one of the 5 new armies we are supposed to get?

If they move to Non Aligned then No as Carlos said all the NA stuff coming out this year will be in addition to the 5 armies.

I've been wanting to do an Aragoto list for a while. New models would certainly not impede this.

I understand this suggests JSA might be splitting off, but is it really any change from the existing fluff?

The Japanese are already subjugated 2nd class citizens under the Yu Jing Emperor. Putting down bloody uprisings is an ongoing part of the narrative.

It’s more likely a new army box for the sectorial with shiny new models/profiles and some tweaks.

I really doubt a full spin off will be happening.

Is that a natural 21?

Hmm. What are the odds of JSA or whatever their new sectorial will be called getting a transforming motorcycle, like the old Robotech Cyclone bike? That silhouette kind of reminds me of one. They could do the profile similar to the Su Jian with a high mobility bike mode and a HI combat mode.

The ongoing narrative is that the Kempeitai are polarizing figures. Some of the Japanese feel that they do more harm than good, since their attacks are indiscriminate and just result in tighter measures against the Japanese people.

Some think they're heroes and thus act as saboteurs and malcontents as well. The days of "bloody uprisings" has been more/less put way behind them though since they think it hurts their cause. They'd rather assassinate Yu Jing officers and officials known to devalue Japanese lives.

What are the most likely models to come out of a JSA revamp? A new starter, obviously, and presumably a SWC box as well.

Im going to take this as Yu jing is going to send in the Invincible army to try and suppress the Japanese Secessionist as step two.

So we will be getting the Invincible army as a new sectorial soon(TM) as well as Japanese Secessionist.

Supposedly this is art done by someone who's done contracted work by CB. It also, supposedly, vanished from his artist portfolio--but not before anyone saved it.

What does the middle guy in green look like?
Been waiting for new Shang-ji for some time now.
Edit:
Nevermind, clearly just a buff tiger soldier

The only part that’s the same as a Tiger Soldier is the backpack. So it could be a new drop HI.

I thought it was a Zuyong Invincible at first. It would make the first AD Heavy infantry unit in the game. A two wound combat jumper. Nice.

A new JSA box would mean, finally, an end to the current Keisotsu. They cannot be melted down in the crucible fast enough.

There's been some mention of a unit called a 'Shooting Star' that's supposedly a Korean themed drop troop. There's been a lot of buzz over it on 4chan, and I'm pretty Bostria has named dropped it at some stage. Seems likely to me that this new guy in the artwork is a Shooting Star, because a HI drop troop is one hell of a shooting star
