Just a quick question. I often se people mentioning rhino's moving 18". E.g. an article i just read stated that the rhino moved 18" then popped smoke. I thought they could only move 12 " at a maximum? Is this true? Where does it state otherwise?

It depends on whether or not they were talking about Blood Angels Rhinos and Razorbacks.
They are faster than regular SM vehicles.

or if the Rhino/Razor was on a Road.

Both of those allow 18"

BA Rhinos on a road can go 24.

Blood Angels not only get cheaper transports than anyone else, they get faster ones as well....

Well thats not 100% true. They are faster, but not cheaper. SM Razorbacks and Rhinos cost less than the BA Razorbacks and Rhinos.

The only time BA get them cheaper is if they remove the jump packs from an assault squad and purchase a dedicated transport for that squad.

And you would be foolish not to.

20points, net, for a fast heavy flamer transport vehicle is nuts. 35pts, net, for a twinlinked assault cannon? Thats cheaper than ONE terminator and far less vulnerable.

An assault cannon razorback for an assault squad is 55 points if I remember correctly.

Yep, HF/HB is 20, all the other wep options are +35.

55 is still less than 70 though(70 being the Cost of the Single Assault cannon armed termie).

Not to mention you can get 4 of them for 10 points less than the Entire Squad(Plus cost of the AC) of termies required to buy that Assault Cannon.

A Razorback is far, far more vulnerable than a terminator in a squad, especially in a BA army.

1 is; 4 not so much. Target Saturation has a survivability factor in and of itself.

Also being available to a troops choice, and this being 5th edition; the 4 Razorbacks, while needing 4 squads to bring them, add very little to the cost of the Squads that are required for them.

You are likely to be taking 3-4 squads of troops anyways, so you have the Option of adding 5 More Assault marines to the squad, or adding a Razorback with Assault cannon for 35 points less than the max squad. The Razor back adds another unit to be targeted, the relative statistical survivability of a vehicle, The relative Safety of a transport, Move and Fire capabilities with an excellent gun, and not much lost in the way of speed/maneuverability of the transported unit(Can still move 12" per turn, just cannot ignore the terrain in the way of that 12" move). Multiply that 35 Points over 4 units and you can buy yourself either 2 HF/MM Tornadoes, a 4 ML Devastator Squad, or a Dakka Pread.

Unless you have bought all your assault squads Razorbacks already and want one for your Librarian and his honor guard.

And considering you can field 17 Razorbacks if you really wanted too, for Blood Angels, only 6 of those get a reduced cost.

But I get what you are saying nos.

Nah, 6 is enough fast razorback for anyone....vehicle spam in BA is silly though. Seeing 9 - 11 rhino chassis, 3 being AV13 preds, in 1500 points is just crazy...
