Hate to Godwin’s the thread, but it’s the same deal as with the swastika, it doesn’t matter how long and noble a history the symbol has, it has been co-opted by a bunch of horrible people and now if you go up to any random person on the street they will only know that usage.

I don’t agree with that co-option, I don’t even necessarily agree that GW needed to change their models, but that it is the reality and it’s foolish not to recognise it.

I'm just adding to the dumpster fire here, but it's only the reality if you kowtow to every opinion anyone has, no matter how ignorant or uninformed. But most of us here don't have skin in the game or a business to run, so I can understand the decisions made, even if I disagree with them.

Any guess about when the new weapons upgrades could be released?

It would really depend where you are, wouldn't it?

For example, I'm pretty sure not everyone here know what the feth is the KKK, but everyone knows what a capirote is. There's even an idiom, "tonto de capirote".

So... wouldn't it also be ignorant to think that the general public knows what the hell the KKK is, then? A bit anglocentric, at the very least?

Oh this soon, I hoped to get Orlock and Van Saar weapons before the end of 2021. Good news then.

Same for the Delaque ones. I’ve got another gang in box waiting to be built (though I don’t really know where they are right now…)

Well maybe not the Van Saar one this time around sadly, but before the end of the year. I wish they'd release them a little sooner.

Also, I wonder if the Van Saar one will do what the FW Van Saar one failed at, and include lots of gun front ends. Making the Van Saar guns two pieces might be annoying from a construction perspective, but it does allow for a greater level of modularity, modularity the FW extras completely ignored.

Please don’t call it ‘anglocentric’. The KKK have got nothing to do with us!

More to my point I guess XD. It just shows the little I know about it.

I did mean it as "english-speaking world stuff" though ^^

This sprue really goes all in on the special/heavy weapons huh. I'd have liked some more mundane things like the wrench and some empty hands, but I don't know what I'd drop for space.

Actually perfection, pretty much almost everything useful in Orlock house list covered, even the bolt and plasma pistols are in pairs. The extra bit are the drum mag which is 10 times more useful than recycled grenade bits. If they have more space we'd probably get the 2 Combi-weapon and Las cutter from the house list.

See? It isn't hard to make a good weapon pack, unfortunately Escher and Goliath got the short end of the straw.

Gathering the Informations.

I would have liked a few more heads and a 'chestplate' to fit over the Arms Master's bare torso so you can do a proper armored version, personally.

Would have been kinda cool to get a few heads that looked like the lead gent from Underhive Wars' campaign as well...who is apparently hard to find images of?

But this kind of chestplate:
Spoiler:

I can probably sculpt something but dangit, I've been sculpting rifle wraps for my Skitarii Rangers for a month now. I'd like to take a break from sculpting!

I'm shocked they didn't do the diagonal vents on the plasma and melta.

My Orlocks are Old School models, but I must say if I was collecting a whole new gang from scratch that looks like a respectable weapons pack.

Love the colour of those Delaque dice.

It's not that surprising - the FW packs didn't have them either. Either there's a fluff reason or the sculptor couldn't be bothered.

Probably the diagonal vents messed with the visual language of the plasma and melta, while flamers are a lot more open to variation.

Also nobody in their right mind will ever use the models for flamers.

According to the price list, the Ferratonic Furnace is going up in price from US$50 to US$60 for... reasons.

On the bright side, the inexplicably high priced House of Faith does not appear to be the new norm, as the price for House of Shadow is US$47, same as all the other house books. Hopefully they haven't skipped out on page count.

Next question is will GW bring back the Sector Imperalis stuff next?

You'd hope so, right?

The ever so sudden vanishing of that stuff still doesn't make sense. It's not like that fortification stuff that came in plastic bags and was a weird colour plastic so clearly not from Nottingham; they were proper sprues made by GW. And they just up and disappeared...

... sort of...

... because their disappearance is not consistent. The Sisters battle chapel or whatever it's called is part of that range, and uses at least two of the original sprues from that range. The Derelict Factorum (and the one that doesn't have the Sector Mechanicus extras) has the 'Mechanicus' version of those wall panels, plus the same floor panel sprue. So some of it is still on sale, but a lot of the extras (the big statues, the small statues, that cool big double-wide archway) just aren't, and for no discernible reason.

The reintroduction of the Ferratonic Furnace and Galvanic Magnavent is also odd, as those never went away. They're available on the GW website right now, so why release something that's still on sale?

Anyway, just marking it here for comparison's sake on Saturday:

Ferratonic Furnace - AUD$84
Galvanic Magnavent - AUD$125

And we'll see if the new Sector Mechanicus terrain bundle is more than the (currently unavailable) AUD$250 Vertigus box.

I have these Redemptionists.

Trust me, they're pretty cool. Even if there are just six, I'm sure the weapons load outs box will fill the deal later on.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

If the Cawdor weapon box is compatible with the Reds, then I'll take back everything I said about them.

Except the heads. The heads are dumb. Need more face-masks + hoodies than weird hair.

That's a great idea.

I hope they are compatible, otherwise I'm going to end up cutting off some perfectly good weapons on multiples of six cookie cutter figures.
I wonder if the Catachan arms or the Corps Grinder arms will work out on them.

THAT is a good possibility, as well.

Empire Flagellants are significantly chunkier than plastic Cawdor. Dunno about Redemptionists.
