Now I cruise the internet looking for ideas and inspiration and came across an article/forum entry over on he should not be named's blogsite and felt like this could be fun. So I designed my own version of a dreadbash that will hopefully have everything I need to be able to compete but I’m not totally sure how to scale it down to 1,850 (though the easiest would be to drop Meph and turn him into a standard libby). So here we go

HQ

Mephiston-250

Elite

Furioso Dreadnought-125

Furioso Dreadnought-125

Troop

10 Death Company-290
Rhino(50), Power Weapon (15), Power Fist (25)

DC Dreadnought-125
Blood Talons

DC Dreadnought-125
Blood Talons

5 Assault Marines-130
Melta Gun, Razorback

5 Assault Marines-125
Flamer, Razorback

Fast Attack

Baal Predator-115
TL-Assault Cannon

TL-Assault Cannon

Baal Predator-115

Heavy Support

Dreadnought-120
2xTL-Auto Cannon

Dreadnought-120

So you’ve got some decent long ranged anti-transport firepower. Some horde/MEQ squad killers in the form of the DC dreads. A scary fire and forget missile that you launch toward the enemy lines and force them to deal with in the form of the regular Death Company. It is a little light on scoring troops but I figure I can play it well enough to keep a couple marines alive with all the threats on the table. Mephi is there because he’s a scary bastard that throws a lot of people off their game. The Baal’s provide some excellent firepower, mobile cover, and an ability to chew thru high AV at range. I’m torn on giving talons to the Furioso’s as I think I’d like it more but it limits them in tank hunting. So…Thoughts?

Yeah, I think I was more worried about it before I added the 3 TL-AC's on AV13 vehicles....

If I was going to cut this down for 1850 I'd probably drop one of the rifleman dreads and the DC guy with the power weapon (leaving 9 in the squad). That should be about 150 points. I think Mephiston brings a lot to this list that a regular libby wouldn't.

If I drop the DC guy I have to drop the DC dread which is easily done actually. I could cut a single DC, a DC Dread, put claws back on the other two Furioso's and drop that melta to a flamer and boom. 1,850!
