Hey all

Ive got an idea for a big group project
I think I got this idea somewhere (cant remember where but it might have even been here on Dakka) and its been stuck in my head so just decide to post and see who would be up for this

Here is the idea

I would be looking to try and get as many marines of different chapters together.
This requires participation from the Dakka community. Whoever wants to take part would paint just one marine of a certain chapter of their choosing. This marine would then be posted to me. (You will not get it back)
Im based in London BTW
I will take a picture of each marine sent and post it on Dakka with a small description of the chapter background.
Obviously there are only a certain number of progenitor chapters so first come first served on these ones. However the board is open to send though you own chapter marine with a background of your created chapter.
Once a certain time (I reckon probably 6 months) has passed there will be a group photo of all the submitted marines. The whole project will then be listed on Ebay or Dakka in a bid form and the money raised will all go to charity

Any ideas for this feel free to submit them

As far as the progenitor / already named chapters go, the first people to post to this blog regarding their choice will have the right to paint that chapter
Once all these spots are taken then everyone else will have to submit their own chapter to take part

Feel free to submit your chapter preferences asap but please dont start painting until the new year
Or if already have a painted model, I will only post my postal address in the New Year

I like your idea actually. Its probably a bit more fair as people that dont paint to Golden Demon standard will still get a chance. Its all about participation, being a part of something different and raising a bit of money for charity.

Put me down for Raven Guard please that would be cool.

I'll also back the charity idea but because i will say this there will be a big argument over what charity. Well, i hope not.

Yeah it could cause some debate but we can cross that bridge when we come to it (maybe the easiest way to solve this would be to ask the winner of the eventual bid as to what charity they would like their money to go to)

inmygravenimages idea has been passed by the inner council (me haha ) and the initial text above has now been edited to suit. Makes it fairer so everyone has the chance to win, not just the good painters

Also everyone has liked the charity idea so far too so that is what we will do

I reckon you can get them all within 4-5 months. Especially if people actually want to do this well.

Starting in Jan i think 4 - 5 months is a good time length but this can be ammended to sooner if the submissions peter out over time.

Just so eveyone know Im placing the Chapters listed in alphabetical order which will make it easier to see whats been taken

I'll try to get one of my marines done from The Emperor's Most Bombastic Machines. Name is a work in progress but it's supposed to be quite ridiculous!
He'd also probably be the very first recruit into the chapter. As yet they only exist in my head...

Do you want just a basic tactical marine with a bolter?? Or are we equipping them with what ever?

Do you want non metallic or is just whatever you want to do?

Any marine will do so if you want to submit a tactical marine then go for it
If you want to convert go for it too

The only stipulation is that if you are doing a progenitor chapter like the Black Templars (like you are) or even a named chapter (one already in existence) then you must adhere to that Chapters painting scheme

However if you decide to do your own chapter then you are free to do what you want

My Raven Guard aren't completley true to their colour scheme. So on the list put the Raven Ghosts please.

I've got a bit over exited and allready completeted my mini. I'll get some pics up soon but don't complain if he is boring and black.

As I'm 15 I'm easy for choice of charity, maybe a childrens charity, maybe a forces related charity as i want to be a medical officer, have a poll maybe.

Are you going pre-heresy with the traitor chapters? If so, then I'll swap my dusky for a Death Guard. Either way it's the same chapter

Charity I think should go to the winner of the auction for sure. It's their cash and obviously the charity angle should be used exclusively to push the sale up. Also basing should probably all be the same.. will you be doing it? Or giving us a theme so we can all match it?

PDH - It isnt really the interntion to create a playable army so please submit whatever marine you want be it a Tactical, Assault, Sarge, Devastator, Anything really
So basically a mass of marines from all different chapters

HamHam - Regarding the bases i think maybe we will put it to a vote as to what base it will be. I think the idea of having the same base makes sense. So guys send in your votes and ill keep a track of them and put them up on the board. I, myself prefer maybe an urban base but i will leave it up to you all

Ed-Bodger - Of course. We will be proud to have the Emperor's Lions join the Conclave

The only JP - I like the idea of a childrens or a forces based charity. But I think maybe the winning bidder will have the decision of where the money will go
Makes it fair as there are so many charities that we could donate to

We are sticking to Loyalist Chapters mate so I have stuck in the Dusk Guard in above for you
As for charity I think that is the way we will go and get the winning bidder to choose

Im really stoked how quick this project is taking off

We already have 12 Chapters in less than a day and hopefully many more to come

as you can see its a pretty easy base and the sand can be painted whatever color you want.
