Hi There,
With Christmas almost upon us, Forge World is a frenzy of activity, and we have a feast of Newsletters in the run-up to the festive period beginning with the first part of our Badab War designer interview, an exclusive preview of Imperial Armour Volume 10: The Badab War Part II, and a quick update on our Christmas shipping times.

Thanks,
Ead Brown

Forge World Christmas Shipping Update

Our final shipping deadline for guaranteed pre-Christmas delivery has now passed, however we are working right up to Christmas and we’re doing our very best to ensure that orders are despatched as quickly as possible.

Our despatch teams are right up-to-date, and all the orders we received by the end of last week have now shipped. We strongly recommend that you choose Express delivery as your shipping method when you place your order, as there’s a good chance that your orders will arrive in time from Christmas.

If you wish to place an order by telephone, or ask any questions about current stock availability, please call the Forge World Customer Service team on 0115 916 8177 within the UK; 011 44 115 916 8177 from the US and Canada and 00 44 115 916 8177 from much of Europe.

Badab Interview Video Part 1

Not too long ago, we sat down with Imperial Armour Writer Alan Bligh and Miniature Sculptor Simon Egan and presented them with a list of your questions about Imperial Armour Volume 9: The Badab War Part I. We ended up with so much footage that we’ve split it down into three parts, and to begin our exciting Christmas previews you can watch the first part here.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/News/badabQ&A1.html

We’d like to thank everyone who sent their questions in – we had a hard time choosing the ones used in the final interview so we hope you enjoy it. We’d also like to thank Shroudfilm for their expertise in filming, editing, and adding the fantastic graphic elements to the interview footage.

We’ll be bringing you parts 2 and 3 of our Designer Interview in coming Newsletters, so check your inbox regularly this week.

Imperial Armour Volume 10: The Badab War Part II Exclusive Preview

Rumours currently abound regarding the second volume in our exploration of the infamous Badab War, and to whet your appetite we’ve put together this gallery of sample page spreads http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Badab2preview.html featuring just a few of the detailed colour profiles and unique special characters that complete the epic saga of Lugft Huron’s fall from grace.

You can find the index page of Imperial Armour Volume 10 here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Badab2contents.html , and while we can’t yet reveal much more than this, rest assured that our Studio Sculptors and Graphic Artists are hard at work on several exciting projects based around some of the elements contained in this hotly-anticipated book.

We’ll be bringing you more exclusive previews of The Badab War Part II over the coming days, so stay tuned for more…

To be honest, I've never actually purchased an imperial armour book before. They seem expensive (even for FW prices) so I'm skeptical as to what is in them...

From looking at them they seem ok. Some of the rule they make up... Does a Land Raider needs to ignore Lance and Melta special rules? The production of the books them selves are nice with high quality pages and massive amounts of color prints every where. The stories are not bad either. But yes they are quite pricey for something you might use often.

I'm currently trying to decrypt the tiny tiny text in the screenshots from IA10... I'll add any bits in here that I manage to work out tonight.

Captain Zhrukhal Androcles - Captain of the Star Phantoms 9th Company.
WS 6 | BS 5 | S 4 | T 4 | W 3 | I 5 | A 3 | LD 10 | Sv 3+

Power armour, Power fist, Combi-melta, Frag/Krak grenades, Iron Halo

Master of Devestation - Once per turn Zhrukhal or one unit within 6" gain +1 to all rolls on the damage chart against anything with an armour value (including buildings and bastions)
Commander of the 9th Company - Zhrukhal is the commander of the 9th Company and as such may take Devestator squads as troop choices.
Company Captain - Counts as an HQ choice for Codex Space Marines and may take a command squad that doesn't count towards the HQ allowance.

Points cost is obscured.

Vaylund Cal - Iron Thane of Atropos War Clan, High artificer of the Sons of Medusa
WS 5 | BS 5 | S 5 | T 6 | W 3 | I 4 | A 2 | LD 10 | Sv 2+

Artificer Armour, Servo harness, thunder hammer, iron halo

Chapter tactics - (Can't quite read this)
Purge the weak - Any devestator squad modelled to be suitable bionic gains Feel No Pain
Blessings of the omnissiah - As codex:Space marines
Opus Machina - (Can't quite read this)
Iron thane - Vaylund is an HQ choice for a Codex Space Marines army; if you take him (I think...) you may not then take another Chapter Master.
Lord of the armoury - Dreadnoughts of all kinds may be taken as heavy as well as elite choices.

This one has been blurred out on purpose.

Points cost is obscured.

Gah! So irritating that they would blur the Medusa character, and not anything else!

They've really done a good job of creating a sense of menace for the Carcharodons, which is particularly notable given their way-silly former name.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Ah, well spotted. I can kinda see Fearless in the blurred out mess of Vaylund Cal's rules too now you mention it.

I wonder how many people will actually manage to paint the tattoo style designs onto their Carcharodons?. Anyone else notice that the terminator doesn't appear to have the Crux Terminatus on the left shoulder?
