This is the list I have based loosely off the contents of two IoB boxes. I have a passion for all things skyre and will probably add more lightningy things to the list in the future.


Heroes:

Chieftain: BSB, shield, Halberd. 74pts

Warlock: Lvl 1, Warp-energy condenser, warpmusket. 100pts

Warlock: Doom Rocket, warplock pistol: 53pts


Core:

50xSlaves ,musician. 102pts

40xClanrats, muscian, standard, shields, Warpfire thrower. 262pts

40xClanrats, muscian, standard, shields, Mortar. 257pts


Rare:

Doomwheel: 150pts

Good solid list for 1,000 points I'd think. Your general's LD will be basically pointless for anything but the Slaves so there's one less worry really.

Also, I'd drop the Halberd from the BSB. You want your BSB to stick around, and the Halberd prevents him from getting his 6++ parry save in CC the hand weapon / shield combo.

Ah I missed that one about the halberd, an extra hand weapon could work quite well in its place.

On an add note is the storm banner the only one worth taking (if even) for a BSB

The storm banner used to be worth taking IMO but since they changed it to "one use only" in the Errata i dont think its worth the 50 points you have to spend in order to get it. Other then that a solid list for 1000 pts. all around.

Seriously though it looks solid. Plenty of bodies, BSB and some characters to have fun with and the Doomwheel to draw ranged fire away from your horde of ratmen. Should be a fun list to fight with and against.

No no no extra hand weapon has the same problem of stopping your use of the shield, if you just want to fill up a couple more points pick up a champion in one of your units or something.

I see you said you like skyre but I'd swap the lv1 warlock engineer for a lv2 plauge priest (with flail). gives you a bit of combat bite and better magic. Also ups the leadership of the whole list which is an added plus. For points you could decrease the size of your units a bit or drop the other engineer.

At 1000pts I don't see the point in a storm banner (especially as you have some decent shooting) however do disagree that it is not worth the 50pts. It was always one use only it just did not read well. It was priced at 50pts for that reason. At 1500/2000+ it's always in my list.

Also concur on the champions being included in the clanrats

I guess I have to buff up on my rules about shields and what-not.

I'll do a bit of proxying and see which I like better priest or engineer.

Would I be better off making the current engineer lvl2 and dropping the current one?
