these are pics of my chaos rhino in pieces, they are all undercoated with chaos black spray and I have decided not to glue the pieces together until I have painted them all. The only parts I have glued together is the CSM legs to the hatch, the two roof doors, the spikes on the roof , the choas icons and the side doors.

I'll keep you updated as I go.

Have you tried the "paint it then glue it" method before? What is your intended end result? I'm asking because I've done this before with models like the VC Corpse Cart but never a vehicle. If nothing else you'll have really clean paint lines, but my concern is glue overrun.

I'll check back to see how it's turning out.

I haven't done the paint and glue method but when i was painting my CSM it was too hard to get behind the bolter so I'm gonna give this a go with a rhino and a bike.
If I do get glue overrun I'll just carefully file it down and if I filem the paint I'll go over it again.

I'm gonna paint the interior tomorrow and mabye some othe stuff too.

paint and glue..... is probably the BEST method i have used. And can't wait to see the final result.

"Straight Fething Silver" Tanith first and only

I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

I started painting my rhino today and the paint scheme is red and black for the Red Corsairs as you can see it is painted terribly but that is only the basecoat, I'm doing all the red panels and stuf first then I'll starttouching up and highlighting then all the other details, I'm pretty new to painting so this might take a while.

Enjoy these crudley painted rhino pics!!!

Looking good. Painting trophy racks is something I usually do last. In fact, I have a whole bin of pre-painted trophy racks to put on tanks

Good luck!

Well today I sat down and had a long hard think about where my life was going, I hit a dead end so I decided to paint my Rhino.

I haven't painted this in a while because I have been working on other minis and stuff, but now I have paint and assembled it completely appart from some touch ups and the blood on the front spikey thing. I haven't done the icons yet because I'm not that confident in painting fine details so I'm gonna leaqve it for now.

Please tell me if there are any things you would change from this....... Enjoy!!!

Maybe a light dry brush of a shadow grey on the black and another light dry brush over the red with a lighter red (both on the edges).

Then maybe some devlan mud to make it a bit dirty and shaded.

Sepia was hover the metal (not that thick but just a bit) would give it a quite nice colour and shades.

You could also depending on how you base your other models use a light dry brush and/or stipple of some light brown on the underside to weather it a bit.

I have/work on these: Army and SOG of and a tiny group of (killzone) and some and last some and a gang of Cryx + Others...

Yeah, the front spiky thing is a bit bland.

also it'd be a good idea if you do some touch ups on the front and the trophy rack

yeah i do need to do some touch ups on the trophy rack but I'm waiting for my local hobby centre to get some of that clear red arcrylic paint because I've heard it makes a good blood effect

Did you have issues putting your Rhino together? I primed mine, then tried to put it together and it would NOT fit very well at all. I eventually gave up so the right side of the tank is on an outward slant on the bottom so there's a big gap at the back door. Looks awful but it's better than smashing it to a million pieces in frustration.

I think it looks pretty good so far. Nice and sharp.

I sort of did have some issues but thats because I glued it straight after i painted it. But as I was doing it, I frequently put it together to make sure it fits and also its best to put it together by yourself the instructions dont help at all.

Well, its been over half a year and I've finally finished my rhino!
I've had a lot of school work and hen I completely forgot abou the rhino.
I didn't really like the trophies on the top or the the dozer blade. I removed them to the best of my ability.
